Well the weather did not cooperate. It is now done, it was not particularly hard. The wheel arch liner needs to come out, also the wheel off, if you do this make sure the tensioner is secure, unlike me... I did not do more than one top up after I had finished to bleed the system. The bolts toward the wheel arch are a pain to find and undo and tighten.

Dispatch 1.6 90bhp 2008.

The belt (steering pump Aux belt) on mine decided that it didn't need to be on the wheels last week. Dislodging some cables and damaging the pump its self. I got towed to a garage (in france) where the most unhelpful garage owner was only interested in getting me off his forecourt. They had a belt, but no pump. So after an 8hr wait they pushed the van in to the workshop only to have their floor covered in oil, (I had a silent titter over that). They changed the belt topped off the oil and sent me on my way. I did ask if it would get me home, a shrug was the reply.

So I bogged off feeling very welcome. I had just shy of 100km to go so took it easy. Well I only just made it as I pulled on to the drive... cue graunching noises and heavy steering.

Well I am now the proud owner of a new pump and will be fitting it this weekend 17/18 Aug 2019 (weather permitting). Is there any tips/tricks I should know about? Where is the tensioning arm/wheel. Is it easier to do with the wheel off?

Many thanks

Buck

Hi All,

I have an 08 plate dispatch with the single pain of glass mirrors. The question is if I can source the newer split glass items (far handier for motorway driving on my trips to the continent) are they a drop in fit or is there any modifications I need to be aware of?

TIA

Buck
