Re: 806 seats

Thats a good  price  cheep as chips ,Ive seen swivels for  vw T3s go for silly money in the past   more than double what you paid just for one secondhand one,
Now its time to fit them, keep us posted with pics
there are some tips on fitting them on standard seats  on FurgoVW
useful pics here  http://www.furgovw.org/index.php?topic= … msg1575340

Re: 806 seats

I got one a few weeks ago mate and it went in easy enough. Scroll down this page.....

http://mytintent.blogspot.co.uk/p/page-six.html

Having a good look at the drivers seat today the mounts that are above the runners are a perfect fit to the holes in the plate so looking to put this one over rather than under the runners. Hopefully clearing the handbrake when applied.

Re: 806 seats

If i dont pull my passenger one fully forward the back of the runner scrapes along the door card pocket. Every time it happens i say to myself "i must get the angle grinder out and make new stops"

One day  roll

Re: 806 seats

I need to grind off the front stops of my passenger rails so the seat slides back up against the dash board, for them extra few inches

That's a bloody great result mate! Looks brilliant - opens up so much space too doesn't it.

Good job again smile

Does it not. That is me sitting on the bench come bed i made taking that picture so as you see plenty room for four adults to sit quite comfortably talking crap over a few beers on summer evenings. Cant wait to crack on and finish this.

Had some shit cards dealt the past week so things are on hold for a couple of weeks but hopping to get this finished soon to get a few weekends away before our jolly to Germany and Holland come September.

Re: 806 seats

Great job, but under £80??? Eh?

I can't seem to find any swivel plates for cheaper than a new set- £200 for a pair.  I don't want to buy some new seats, I want to keep the same seats I've got in now because they're great- same models you've got Casper- not too soft not too hard so I can stay awake when driving long distance.  Any tips on picking some up cheap eg where/what to search for etc?  I was also thinking about taking out the low bit of bulkhead in mine but the holes in it makes a pretty good anchor point for a safe, so do you get more space taking it out?  Because the seats are on the same mounting point right? And they can't go back any further because of the dashboard...

My mate randomly turned up with some spare LED bulbs to replace the interior lights in the van.  Popped them in in 2 minutes and was pretty chuffed with myself.  Now when it's dark at night and I open the door I'm half blind because the cab lights up like I replaced it with a floodlight.  Hmmm.  This is my van, there are many like it, but this one is mine.

Re: 806 seats

I got them both on ebay mate but not at the same time Bottom of page five is my N/S one and page six the O/S

http://mytintent.blogspot.co.uk/p/page-six.html

Measure your bolt holes. Front left to right and back to front and just look out for deals. The first one i was lucky the guy did not know its value so it was buy now at £30. The other i was lucky the advert finished late at night so it looks like other bidders went to bed. I dont search for ones for the van brand. I just looked for swivel seat base or van swivel base. There is a pair 2nd hand now for buy now at £130 from a VW so ask the seller the bolt hole distances

Re: 806 seats

I need to try and lower my drivers side. Its as low as it will go but i had to take out the sun visor to see ahead properly. Bloody shame as i clear the handbrake when on. All i have to play with is the plastic spacers under the base so stanley blade out teh base shape in the rubber mat and padding.

Re: 806 seats

The bases on the 806 seats are not as high as the van ones also they  have smaller plastic spacers , the van ones are about 2cms.
Mine are  just about bob on  but i have on the lowest position  as im 6ft 2 !

Re: 806 seats

If I remember rightly the 806 handbrake lever had the ability to be lowered while remaining on so the seat could swivel, so if handbrake clearance is a problem maybe an 806 lever might be a solution.
