Daytime Running Lights - Where do I connect them to?

Hi.  Just got some Daytime Running Lights for my 2006 Scudo and I want them to come on automatically when I start the engine.

Where should I wire them in to? (The physical place to find the appropriate part of a loom and what wire colours please)

Many thanks

Interesting. I would say use one at the ignition as a few are on/off with ignition like the fag lighter, radio but for safety you would only want it if the engine is running. What about the alternator? and DC running from their?

IIRC I've seen DRL wiring kits on E*ay that allow the light to come on with the ignition and either dims the DRL or turns them off when headlights are on
(My car does something like that)

Don't know if that's some sort of legal requirement ......... (like Fog lights on only in reduced visibility)

Ah sorry. I though you wanted the headlamps to come on.  Get into your fuse box as you tend to have a few spare slots. If lucky you will have an ignition live in there where you could wire you lights into, other than that look at the ampage what they run and take a feed but look at the grade of wire your taking the feed from as you dont want to draw to much and risk overheating/fire in the wire. You may have to up the feed fuse.

The same supply as the stop solenoid on the diesel pump maybe?

Re: Daytime Running Lights - Where do I connect them to?

Passed my test in 86. I had a very cool silver Datsun 120A F11 with 2 red stripes over the bonnet roof and tailgate. Heap O rusty shi coolness. I wanted the main beam to come on when i pressed the horn, who cares if allowed for an MOT, I was young and this was happening. Got it all wired up sound and was well chuffed. Coming home one night and needing to use country roads i put on high beam and shat myself as the bloody horn came on and stayed on.  lol  That was the end of that bright idea.

LOL mate, I wasn't taking the piss tho I was serious, my van won't start without turning me sidelights on, its a great immobiliser.it wasn't a choice but I had to do it when the feed to the stop solenoid earthed and fryed itself so now it is wired to them

Re: Daytime Running Lights - Where do I connect them to?

On my 2002 1.9D there is a "engine running" relay, which is fed from the the ECU via F6 (immobiliser fuse).
You could use a tap/piggy back fuse holder to feed the lights relay.
