Has anyone had a remap & EGR delete done to their HDI?

Been thinking about it today  neutral

If you delete the EGR it may be an MOT fail!!

Re: Remap & EGR Delete

I’ve just done the egr plate with hole, no eml light. very easy to fit and cheap to buy. feels better response on the peddle and so far so good, defiantly feels better to drive doesn’t have any judder. it has a hole in the plate to fool the sensor/ecu into thinking it’s still functioning but only enough to stop eml light coming on and doesn’t recirculate all the sout clogging everything up so saving your engine components from having lots of sout and costs a couple pound instead of a couple hundred

Re: Remap & EGR Delete

Good suggestion dispatcher, might look at going down that route. I know from all the engine work I've had to do over the last year that it does clog everything up nicely that egr.

Re: Remap & EGR Delete

Yes for sure our engines are let down by recycling dirty air and clogging everything up. if you would like a link for the one i have i can obtain it for you. good thing is mr mot won’t see the plate as it’s not far off the thickness of a actual gasket, unless you took it off you wouldn’t be able to tell, which they will never do.

Re: Remap & EGR Delete

Got it ordered, now just wait for it to arrive and get it fitted. Hopefully see some difference once it's in.

Re: Remap & EGR Delete

EGR banking plate has arrived in the post today, so assuming rain doesn't stop play tomorrow afternoon I shall install said plate and see how she fairs.

But fitting will  need to wait until I have first rectified the faulty wipers by replacing the motor, and at nearly £200 it ain't a cheap fix ?

Re: Remap & EGR Delete

I would say it’s pretty easy to be honest. apart from removing a couple bits it should be fairly straight forward to do yourself. The part can be sourced fairly cheaply. send me your complete vehicle details and i’ll have a look for you  smile

Re: Remap & EGR Delete

Thanks dispatcher, already got the replacement motor. Got it from eurocarparts with a healthy 37% discount so made it a reasonable price, even compared to ebay. Luckily I can put the cost through my business, but even so I hate the price of some of the spares for these Van's!

Re: Remap & EGR Delete

Hey no probs happy to help. I agree think some of the prices are a bit crazy for what they are. I’m still waiting on the new sleeve for injector. I’m like a dog waiting on its owner coming home waiting for my postman every day  sad
