Yea I never understand the need for these £60 60 amp relays. I wish my battery would charge anywhere near 60A!
I would presume in these vans the 30Ah ones are great. They do a job but surely if i am running with 3 110Ah or higher and running things in the back like fridge, USB charging. DVD for Passengers and even the diesel heater then i would like to think the draw is not higher than the charge. I ran my Expert with a 30ah split charge and one 75Ah battery and never had an issue. OK that is a white lie. I forgot to earth it and when in Bastogne, Belgium i used up the power but that was late at night and was up and away next day anyway so never bothered. Was not till half way through the trip when stopped for lunch i noticed the battery was not charging. Has to go but a power socked one into three adapter to rip it apart for the wire to use as an earth

Yes I measured the current with a 75ah battery and it was 30a surge, then down to 20a, rapidly falling to 10a, then slowly reducing to zero.

You said "I wished I knew about them before purchasing my durite split relay" I presume you mean the 30Ah split charge relay. That is what is in the link in post number 2 just a different brand and its the kit but the relay can be bought on its own.
