Hi All
I'm just tidying my van up for the MOT
But whilst at it thinking of putting a bench seat in the back.
Mine currently has a bench seat in the front but seating 4 or 5 would be useful on the odd occasions.
Has any one done this or can advise on the best seat to use?
Thanks in advance.
Ive scocken to a guy who has some from a Scudo not sure if they fit?
Has anybody got the plastic wing liner that go under the front wheel arches going spare they would sell.
My van has had a new clutch in the past and sombody has eaither removed them and not put them back or butchered them up to gain access.
Wouldnt mind replacing them if posible.
Thanks in advance.
Me thinks sombedy else has broken it in the distant past....araldite around the niple....
I did the oil and filter last night. Ran it with engine flush in.
After a short trip the new oil looks as bad as the old oil
So I think Ill run it for a couple of weeks and change the oil again this time running flushing oil through. Clearly it hasnt had an oil change in a while as the bottom of the filter was rusty
.
Timimg kit is ordered and ill do the fuel filter at the week end, mine is in a plastic box on the front right of the engine next to the battery so I asume its the paper type?
It's the old adage of how can I fleece you ? I know, if you can't afford a new vehicle and are probably greener by keeping an older vehicle running and not wasting resources [i.e. energy to produce and materials for the troublesome new one] We'll charge you a daily fine you can't afford either and you'll nerver own a new vehicle but the one you have will no longer polute and we'll rake it in ... It's all a SCAM!! It doesn't matter what colour of rosette they wear or wheather you have the money or not it's a win win for the government you either pay the daily fine or they get the tax off you via the new vehicle ....and it will never stop just keep on evolving......Politicians are an absolute disaster ! Unless it makes them look good or can be done in their term usually 5 years their not interested.....................
In 2008 the people of Greater Manchester Voted against the congestion charge....So Andy Burnham changed the name of his new tax.
He didnt mention it when he was up for election and wont explain what he is doing with the funds he is raising...With a bit of luck he may use it to improve his police force that is in special measures.!
Dont get me started on the Andy Burnham Tax.....
If you drive through Greater Manchester on the Motorway you are exempt. If you get off the Motorway you get charged. i Live a mile from the Motorway and will have to pay £10 to get on it because they are putting the ANPR on the sliproads.
So basically if yuo are a hard working tradesman in an van built before 2015 you have to pay £10 a day if you are a large company with a new fleet of vehicles its free, or a house wife in a chelsea tractor clogging up the roads on the school run, thats OK.
For example my Landrover 90 is excempt!!!
Yes I was thinking its was one of those jobs thats probably woth just sorting.
The van has not had many owners but hast any service history.
Hi Guys Thanks for the adding me.
Thought I would say hello!
Im the proud new owner of an Expert.
I got the van as my works vehicle I fancied a bit of comfort after driving around in my Landrover 90 for years but I also wanted so old school engineering being a narrow boat Mechanic.
Just got it through though the MOT swinging arm bushes and front brake rear brake pipes and it drives like a dream.
Its first job was Bolton to loughborough and back. Its not got the grunt of my 90s 2.5 litre intercooled turbo but its alot more relaxaed at 70 mph.
Ive got the problem of brake fade at low speed so Im going to bung up the egr pipe from the vacume pump and see if that helps.
A couple of iminent jobs to do like some new tyres, on the front oil and filter change and posibly timing belt.
What is the recomendations on the timing belt milage and age wise its done 108,000 miles.
