#1 Re: General Discussion » Rear disc brake conversion? » 2023-01-27 00:15:06

Thanks for the reply Stu. Nah none of them came with discs.

The brakes are functioning as they should but I'm used to driving powerful cars and modern (hire) transits with nice fat discs all round, so anything with drums just feels a bit ropey to me, and I carry heavy loads and live on a very hilly part of the coastline so I'd really like the peace of mind and reliability of some chunky discs and calipers.

I've done this before for classic cars and there are kits available for most of these cars.

The conversion kits I'm referring to are these kind of things, typically designed for 4x4s, but also typically american, so matching up fitments will be tricky if at all possible, given the metric sizing of the van, but I was hoping since the van is so widely available that somebody would have already done this, to save me machining the caliper brackets myself - and probably removing them for the mot.

Hi peeps, and thanks for having me on the forum.

I'm picking up a Scudo JTS on Saturday. My only criticism is the braking power, and so I'm intending to convert to disc brakes all round.

Has anyone here done this?

Is anyone aware of a conversin kit which fits?

Many thanks!
