Seems like the issue was just friction between the end of the catch and the rubber sheath that surrounds it on the inside of the pillar. I put some grease on the end bit that makes contact, and hey presto, worked like a charm. Thanks AlvyLad for the idea!
I have a Peugeot Expert L2H2 (2015) and am having an issue with the rear offside door. Apologies, I'm not sure what its called, but the catch/hinge thing is hitting the front internal face of the back pillar meaning in order to close the door I have to give it a shove.

Interesting to have found this thread as I've got the exact same problem happening with mine. Had a garage replace the part and it still didn't fix it so I'm a bit stuck for ideas now. Have you managed to get to the bottom of your issue @Kayekit?
