Thank you tee-cee, a nice comprehensive list, I'll print it off and go on a raiding mission into the workshop.
Job done, well almost.
286 type 12v bulbs are 5 for £1.50 at my local motor factors, £1.99 EACH at Halfrauds.
Just need to get some more and reassemble the dash, there's a surprising amount needed behind the instrumentation
Found it!
It's trumpet shaped under the dash to the right of the steering column.
Torx screw up the centre of it.
Speedo is removed by three screws, two bottom, one top
Didn't realise how many bulbs were out behind the dash though!
I need about another ten!
I've just done the heater lights, very straight forward thanks for the help.
Can't seem to access the dashboard.
I've removed the centre heat vent
I've removed the two screws from around the cowling
I've removed the top piece of the steering column cover
I've removed the right hand heater vent
I still can't remove the black dash surround.
Despite reaching through the heater venom the right I can't find the plastic trumpet to undo to release the surround.
Mole grips
Allen keys
to be added
I might have a rummage for a cheap socket set with Allen and Torx bits as well
Torx! Of course I forgot about them.
I just want to have the ability to fix any minor problems if I'm away for a few days.
Cheers
Hi
I'm putting together a few tools to keep under the passenger seat whilst I'm out and about (I had to postpone my first adventure in my Dispatch). I'm reasonably competent and just wondered what everyone thought or carried in theirs.
So far:
Pliers
8" adjustable spanner
Engineers screwdriver
Posidriv screwdriver
8, 10, 11, 12, 14, 17, 19 mm spanners
What else would you recommend, your thoughts are welcome.
Cheers
Hi
I'm not going to have room for a fitted fridge and am thinking of a powered cool box, do any forum members have any recommendations or observations?
I'm thinking of keeping it in the back for travelling and lifting it into the front over night.
Futon bought ready to be cannibalised for bed with storage, smart relay arrived today ready for my 12v battery and lighting.
Cheers
Hell!
I had no idea of the Gaz prices, I was given some cylinders and kept them, Just In Case!
I'm still using some obscure butane bottles I found on waste ground
I fancy using a single burner and a small Calor propane
Thanks for that
I'm paranoid about being able to see the temp gauge at night and hate doing this sort of job
How do I access the heater control lights, any ideas?
Cheers
Hi
How easy to replace one of the lights behind the instrumentation?
How easy to replace the bulbs behind the heater controls?
Any advice welcome
Cheers
In terms of gas cylinder, I'm thinking of going back to the old Camping Gaz 907 bottle, or even the 904, much smaller than anything by Calor.
Hi
Got rid of my old Relay and bought a Dispatch, love it hardly use my car these days.
Fitted a chequer plate style rubber mat, seat covers and a steering wheel cover (good old eBay).
I redid all the ply panelling in the back using cardboard templates and made a new floor. Just before Xmas I carpeted the floor using carpet tiles.
I'm going to turn it into a stealth camper / tin tent as I can't be bothered camping much these days.
When I bought it the fella gave me the receipt for the work he'd had done, cal head, timing belt, water pump etc. It seems good on fuel too.
Still got lots of little jobs to do, alter the gap on the side door etc.
Cheers
