Dash is off and I can see some bulbs are missing. Now wondering what warning lights I've not been seeing!
I've got a few replacement bulbs from when I did the heater, but they don't have the plastic casing
What part am I looking for?
Thank you both. Glad to hear the odometer isn't required.
It's a Y reg 1.9D
The coolant light is almost always on, despite the coolant system working fine. The previous owner said he could never get to the bottom of why it stayed on all the time.
The fuel gauge was permanently at this point for months, then started occasionally showing the correct level after an oil change - this has been happening 2-3 times per tank of fuel. Sometimes it stays for a while, sometimes it only stays for a minute or two.
Does this extra information give an indication of where to investigate first?

So, the fuel gauge has worked incredibly intermittently since I got the van, mostly not.
I've been using the clock trip and with the odometer recently looking like this, I've found out the hard way that the low fuel sensor light doesn't come on when I'm low on fuel.
(On the plus side, it meant I avoided going to an event I really wasn't convinced about going to!)
So, what's my route to getting this resolved? Fix the odometer? Fix the fuel gauge? Are they part of the same job?
I'm guessing I need a working odometer for the MOT ?
I really want to get the passenger bench seat to swivel, but wondering how possible that is?
My mechanic isn't keen, doesn't think it's safe to make them swivel, so I may need to find another mechanic or do it myself.
Someone suggested I just turn it round and that seemed it might be a simple solution until I realised the legs aren't symmetrical to the seat.

I found instructions on eBay (above link) - has anyone used it and able to indicate how useful it will be?
What colour's the smoke? I get grey smoke sometimes when the engine's cold, it's just unburned fuel, nothing to worry about
I do get a bit of blueish smoke if I idle for a long time and then set off
Does it fade or get worse if you up the revs when it's cold?
It's grey, and smells (of fuel, presumably - I don't have a good enough sense of smell to be able to name it!). It gets worse when I increase the revs
Thank you

Hi folks. I've got a smoky exhaust, it goes away after a few minutes running. The person who helped me with buying the van seems to think there's nothing to worry about, however a friend suggested I use one of the above engine cleaners - and I'm noticing a nervousness about it causing more issues than it resolves.
Thoughts/insights?
Yes, 50 on single carriageways, 60 on dual carriageways, 70 on motorways.
A friend recently got her licence taken away for 6 months because she didn't know she couldn't do 70 on dual carriageways and got caught several times in quick succession.
Apparently it's only the intelligent cameras which scan every plate that pick this up, as they refer back to the DVLA database. Most of them are only triggered by the speed, so I'm guessing that's why I've been ok so far, and suspect she must travel past an intelligent camera.
Hey folks, I've discovered the N1 speed limits are different to what I'm used to and wondering, is there an app where you can set speed limit notifications for different classifications of vehicle?
I use Google maps at the mo and that only shows the speed limit for cars - I've turned that setting off now so it won't confuse me
Thank you!
Update - It's where the aerial cover would have clipped in. Which is long gone.
Filler time.
<img src="https:/ … />Thanks
I've taken the headliner off and discovered there's a hole in the roof by the aerial. How I've not had an internal leak from that with the amount of rain we've had, I don't know.
Wondering if my sills are full of water...
Looks like it's always been there, it's really neat.
Has anyone added a shelf in the cab?
I'm thinking it's time to take the headliner off for adding some insulation and figure out if there's anywhere to add brackets for a bigger shelf - but I can't figure out what search term to use to find YouTube vids for doing it on the scudo so wondering if it's not possible
Amazing, thank you. It's like driving a different van, the wind noise is substantially reduced. Washers and faffing worked nicely
First world problem - are there cup holder extensions /expansions that work with the cup holders in the doors?
All the ones I've found so far are for middle console and they don't look like they'd fit, either outwards or upwards.
Thank you!
Thanks all. I've found the plastic locator fills enough of the air gap to make a nicer noise when going at speed, which feels like a small win.
I don't mind an air gap but even with the door locator in place there's still some rain coming through the top of the door which is going to be an issue
Any thoughts on this?
Hi! I'm new to this forum after buying a Y reg scudo a few weeks ago. I've converted a bus in the past, however I'm starting from scratch with van maintenance as my ex kept the tool shed and my last car was much newer and just 'worked' ?
My mechanic is keeping an eye out for a metal sliding door locator but in the meantime I've bought a plastic one to see if it will help with the gap in the door seal. And, it didn't come with fixing bolts.
I'm having a brain freeze. What bolts am I looking for to attach this?
