One wire is always live and the other works with the ignition. Your stereo should have a label stuck to it telling you what is live and whats ignition. Most i have installed have been yellow ignition and red live funny enough but find out first. All you will do if they were the wrong way round is the radio will not go off with the ignition and it wont remember radio stations. Buy a multi meter if unsure.

Hi mate and welcome. I changed my stereo and never bothered with the blocks, just used a multi meter to find continuis live (stereo memory) and ignition live so it goes of with the key. My heater control is buggered also and it seems a common problem but i am lucky and can pop a screwdriver in to change the heat setting. Been to the bloody scrap yard many a time but forget to pick one up. Here is another bed option. This link is expensive, look about as there is others around 350 quid

BTW. Your mate that is getting 38mpg. He must have heavy boots as i get an average 38 from my 1.9 non turbo with 180k on the clock.

I was going to change mine but this it just an entry level van for us. If we like then i will be moving on to a larger van to build so not bothering with the sink. Sink, cooker and window is the legal requirements for a camper. The cooker can be replaced for microwave but all you need to know is on that site.

Advantages is cheaper on some toll roads, ferrys and i think your tax and insurance is also cheaper. Oh and if not used to a van. Legally you can only do 50mph on country roads and 60 on the motorway. You will need to look into the law for other country's.  A camper can do 60 and 70 in the UK.

New cable is on the cards as my is starting to fray at the pump end. I did put 3 into 1 down it last month what helped but could be better. Must admit. I have owned and used through work cars many a 306 diesel and never found the clutch that heavy. My last 306 non turbo had 120k and even that was fine. Ill check out the 306 cables as well as they may be cheaper. Thought i had seen it before. Euro car parts off i pop for a shopping spree    so the clutch is definitely cable not hydraulic (Not looked at it properly yet) as i may as well change that while i am under at the pedals. Funny, i have the expert but no lift collar.

BTW the pug 306 turbo diesel is one of the most underrated cars ever in my opinion. Once you pulled the throttle cable tight and unscrewed the plastic stop from under the accelerator pedal it went like sh**e of a shovel. The works 1.9TD never got run in and we would see 120 on the clock. Never had that from any of the ones i have owned. Presumably they were run in properly from new. I have heard the same thing from ford owners.

You thinking double bed? another option if you can fix it to the floor and work it flat is a futon. I got one that is 4" wide. You may need to measure height as you are only 3"9 between the arches. I got it for to use as mattress and seat cushions when folded up. The wood is broken up to make the frame for seats and units.

Must admit i do have a soft spot for the bandit. I do prefer the older MK1. The 600 may be on the cards as i could get the 750 teapot engine cheap enough and slip that in. Europe got the 750 bandit. god knows why we never. If i get the zephyr it would be the 750 as i always fount the 1100 a lardy bus that did not handle to well. TBH i have never seen the need for much larger. How fast do you need to go? I have took 750's over most of Europe with no space or comfort issues. Think the only bike i would get that is larger would be the 900 divvy or something from the BMW GS range as they all make great tourers. The divvy can do 100k in its stride and a good one with luggage can be had for £1500. Yes the zephyr, ZR7 and GPz750 all used the same engine. Only covered and cams differed. The GPz A2-5 had the most power by about 10bhp.

You talking ferry i was expecting to use DFDS. Could be tunnel but swaying to boat. If i dont take the dog then P&O from Hull will be getting my money as i fell the staff on some of the Newcastle crossings are bloody rude and the rack of tip jars on the bar boils my P**s. I feel the ticket is dear enough withought the staff begging. P&O last time i used them had better food and beer.

Yeah i did think storage for the side door. If i dont put a windows in that side i will just cover the whole side in ply and carpet. I would have a few inch behind the door for storing small items but i am almost doing the same with the back. The doors will be covered in a bench seat with back rest. Behind will be tools and jack storage with a few shelf's for the likes of dog food and the likes. I am also connecting the central locking for that and the side.
