Fuel Advance Solenoid or can it be bypassed?

Anyone have a cheap one of these for a lucas system non turbo DW8? or do you know if I can just pull the top hat off it, or disconnect the feed to it? smile

Re: Fuel Advance Solenoid or can it be bypassed?

I'd be interested to know this. As I understand it the only difference between a DW8 and DW8B is the addition of the MAF sensor, ECU and electronic advance.

I do have my old non-electronic Lucas pump, although obviously swapping it out is a reasonably significant job

I have an advance solenoid for the dw8b, changed the part but it wasn't the problem so got a Delphi one to sell on, make me an offer, also sending from France so probably add a fiver for p+p.

Only just seen this post mate, it turned out to be a crack in the manifold... yet it's a non turbo lol, changed that and it's been OK ish, till the weird coolant/temp issues today... in my other post; https://dispatchexpertscudo.org.uk/foru … hp?id=1340
