This is the second attempt at the swivel base.
I bought a second hand item consisting of two massive steel plates and a single pivot bolt which in practice turned out to be wobbly fore and aft. I thought, b*llocks :( so that came out, to be replaced with the FASP item hopefully shown below. It wasn't cheap at £109, but certainly seems more solid. It is also claimed to be fully crash tested by the manufacturer, which is important when it's your family in the passenger seat.
What i have here is a driver's seat from a pre-facelift mk1 Dispatch, with the driver's seat frame bolted to the floorpan and the FASP swivel in between. It's still not totally perfect, as the chair itself has some play in the runners and backrest simply due to the enormous mileage on the donor van which had been all over Europe. But for now it is stable and comfortable enough. Plus I love that electric blue chequer upholstery...
I'd like to ultimately replace both chairs with something more luxurious. The bolt-holes on the runners are 40cm apart side to side, and 31cm fore and aft. Has anyone found/fitted nice alternative chairs to their mk1? I heard a rumour that certain Alfa and Mercedes seats can be fitted. Any photos would be appreciated...

I've been pleased wit the FASP plate on my 2015. The only thing to watch is that the orange release lever retaining nut works loose and needs to be tightened up every so often.

I couldnt find a single passenger seat at sane money, so changed both the seats for Mk7 fiesta seats (thin bases and simple mechanism, nice and comfy). The bolt holes are nowhere near matching up, and wleding was certainly needed to the seat rails, swivel plate and base frame. The passenger side needed a new stubby four legged frame under the swivel, and we are also delighted with our end result - swivel front seat makes all the difference to the feel of space inside !
