Rear seat

Hi All
I'm just tidying my van up for the MOT
But whilst at it thinking of putting a bench seat in the back.
Mine currently has a bench seat in the front but seating 4 or 5 would be useful on the odd occasions.
Has any one done this or can advise on the best seat to use?

Thanks in advance.

Re: Rear seat

I went to see one for sale once where they just screwed it into the plywood floor  neutral Passes the MOT apparently. Just don't crash  hmm

If I'm to extrapolate from the Synergie, that had some rails that bolted into the floor. I'm guessing the floor has bolting points for those rails

Re: Rear seat

i used ford transit tourneo seats in my van. they work a treat. i welded thick steel plates to the chassis of my van and drilled through them to make the bolt holes. i sat the runners on the floor then raised the whole van floor to insulate it.

they are great as with a little modification you can make the seats fit both ways around. they have built in belts too

Re: Rear seat

JDM, are they welded to any substantial structural bits or is it sufficient to just have the steel plates as giant "washers" underneath?

Also, what's the regs? Do you have to inform DVLA of your increased seating? No doubt insurance will take an interest.
