Who has changed there injectors on a DW8B? Im a little confused here. This picture is my buggered one
It is pissing out diesel and its not vibrated loose but........
Below is how they look and the main body is in two parts. Now the lower red arrow goes in the head and i presume a crush washer first. The upper part screws into the lower and i would have thought there should be a seal in here as the yellow arrow is where my fuel is coming out. My new injector is here and the two parts are loose so i had a peek. No seal. Can anyone shed some light?

If I can put my two pence worth in that looks like a Lucus type injector as the Bosch ones if memory serves has a Nut type fitting for spanner to aid tightening or loosening when splitting injector around where your top red arrow is just under spill/return pipe.............
Again two pence worth if it's leaking from body probably time for a refurb................
Is it worth dropping all 4 into a diesel shop for refurb ? ...............

Nooo. That scabby one with the arrows is not mine just a picture from ebay. Yes it is a Lucas/Delphi one and not worth a re furb TBH as i got a new one for £40. On out LDV facebook page we have a parts gut who has a shed load of NOS for Convoys and Pilots. The Pilot got the DW8 engine also so our man came up trumps. I was just finding it odd having no seal in there however, Made an arse of myself ish
Never needed an injector. The return pipe was split and trickling fuel down making it look like it was coming through the threads In my defence the return pipes were changed some 6 month back so i had no reason to check them. It has fish tank tubing on just now and the proper stuff is in the post.

Well that answers that .... I wondered if it was leaking a body through age or milage ...... Both even a refurb with new nozzles might be the way to go but as you've pointed out if someone has NOS at less than a refub or even comparable ......... it's a bit of a No Brainer..............
I've noticed return/spill rubber pipe is not what it used to be {what is?}......... Quality or choice

I was thinking that also but this was the proper braided stuff. Im wondering if we cut them to short as i also got a set of NOS ones coming and they are 25cm each. I would also have thought they should have little clips holding them tight but even the Pilot never had them so possibly not.

WHATS THE DIFFERENCE BETWEEN A dw8 AND THE dw8b?
I think an ECU and possibly Bosch to Lucas pump but you do get an extra 2BHP

Like Casper says, it's the ECU. Although DW8s came with Lucas pumps too.
DW8B is a DW8 with the addition of a MAF sensor to measure the air coming in, which is fed to an ECU, which tells the fuel pump to adjust accordingly.

Hello looking for a replacement injector as one is leaking from the yellow arrow pictured above.
My search so far has not been the good.
Is there different types ie botch or lucas how. Do you tell the difference ?
Thanks in advance

Yea Lucas and Bosch have different injectors with different cracking pressures. That said, when I switched my Lucas pump to a Bosch one, I left the Lucas ones in and it ran fine. Probably not good to mix and match though

In the ERG isolation thread there were (from my memory) side by side comparison, but image hosting sites deleted those.

Yeah couldn't find it.
Is there away to stop them leaking. Or what causes it?
I read above it says there is no seal between the two halves which I thought was strange.

I know right! Tiree emailed me about it saying he doesn't have much time to manage the forum these days and put me as Admin
He was telling me his plans but he's gone quiet on me!

Yeah there was to be an update of this forum software. Think he said he was waiting to hear how stable it was but it sounded good with the ability to send PM's also. That all went quiet also what must have been two years ago.
