SERPENTINE / DRIVE ALTERNATOR BELT

Hi everyone. I’m new here because I’ve ran out of options short of paying a crap load of money to someone.
My serpentine belt snapped and moved out on the drive home. Anyway, I’ve bought a new belt which I have checked, double checked that check and triple checked all of them checks to make sure it’s the right belt ✅

I have followed the YouTube tutorials. The online forums etc etc but I cannot for the life of me get the belt to go on.

It’s the very very last bit is mm’s away but there’s not enough give in it to get it over.

Now I was able to identify the problem easily when it came off because this happened once before, I got the aa out (don’t have cover anymore) and he was about to tow me then had an idea. Went to his van, back to my engine, because it was cold I stayed inside (my dispatch is converted ?). The guy appeared back at the window and said he’s managed to bodge it so it would work. But it wont last forever. He never said how tho so there is a chance he’s changed a cog or done something that’s stopping me finishing the last cog I’ll post as many pics as I can. Any help would be truly appreciated ? x

Re: SERPENTINE / DRIVE ALTERNATOR BELT

Forgot the photos LOL please ignore how the belt is on the pictures here the belt has just flopped down and is landed in whatever position it’s landed in.

Ps. The forum is not allowing me to upload because the resolution is too high?!?! Anyway, I e created a view only design on Canva. So if you follow this link you’ll find the photos.

that's where your route should've gone

Basically, once you release alternator bolt, route it that way, get lever to tension it to the point "I swear it's going to break", re'tighten the belt-alternator bolt back on

Same'ish route
