Just wondering if anyone has experienced water leaking down inside the van by the front left wheel arch.
Found my carpets were saturated the other day and on inspection found quite a bit of water standing in the air inlet area. There seems to be a hose outlet there which I prodded and heard the water run away.
Dried everything as well as possible and left the carpets back to dry. Seemed o.k. Until I came to drive it today and a torrent appeared on the footwell.
Any ideas please.

Common problem with those scuttle drains below the windscreen getting clogged up, backing up and making it through the blowers
You should have some small flexible hoses from that scuttle drain down the front of the wheel arch (outside the van). Sounds like that's what you unblocked.

By the time you see that the carpets are wet, the whole foam underside of the rubber floor mat will be soaking wet.
When this happened to me I propped the rubber up as best as I could - I think that you need to practically dismantle the van to get the mat out. Initially I used a blow heater, but eventually moved on to a dehumidifier. I think it took about a week to dry out.

As tee-cee suggests, check out the thick under carpet, it can hold liters of water sealed against the floor.
I removed mine and rust cured and painted while in there. The mat was so heavy with water I could hardly lift it. Took about a week to dry out in a greenhouse.

Thanks for feedback. Stupidly, when I found the near side drain blocked, didn’t think to check the offside one.
So when I drove the van, the water backed up on the offside shot into the van also.
Now unblocked and as I have a dehumidifier, guess will give that a go. ???
Thanks.

Sad to say, still chasing this leak. Thought clearing the drains would cure it, but with last nights heavy rain, quite a Pool of water on the rubber mat in the left footwell.
Can feel the foam under the rubber is saturated, so guess will have to remove seats and rubber to haul it out.
Leaks are not good.
Anymore ideas where this could be originating from.
Thanks.

It's an absolute hassle getting the mat out, but must be worth it. My old van had sodden mats, scared to think how much damage it would do to the floor
I have a drip coming from the roof, just at the corner of the windscreen. But I imagine you'd have noticed that if that was the cause of yours. Can you trace it in from anywhere?

Spent an hour with a mate and we hosed the van, nothing, but water in the van after heavy rain last night.
Then spent about four plus hours removing the rubber mat. It was as you said sodden, couldn’t have taken anymore water. Real pain, realigning the seats and the spacers. ?? It Weighed an absolute ton. Will probably leave it out for good now, unless I can be sure of nailing the leak.

Dis you hose into the scuttle to make sure the drains worked? They are long rubber tubes and can be blocked right down the bottom. You don't want any pooling in there.
Yours isn't a pop top by any chance?
Mine is and it has about 3" upstand all around the sides and rear. If parked back end down in rain it fills up with gallons. When you set of and the van levels, it tips it all straight down the screen and can overwhelm the drains.

Think I may have found the problem. Yes it is a pop top with two hinges at the front.
Had an issue with one hinge a couple of years ago and removed the head lining and used JB Weld to fix this.
Went out to the van this afternoon in torrential rain and sitting inside, the roof lining either side was saturated at the front of the doors at the top. Either hinges leaking again, or possibly the arial.
Roof lining out tommorow to dry and then watch with a hose on it to see where it is coming in.
Yes checked both scuttle drains. They were blocked which is where I thought the problem was, but after clearing them, still an issue, which transpires is from either the hinges, or the arial.
Will update when I find the cause.

Further to my last update. Found the leak to be at the corners of the screen, many years of sun and cold had obviously affected the sealant and it was leaking badly from both corners.
Have siliconed round the screen and dried the rubber mat thoroughly over a few weeks.
Fitted it again yesterday, what a miserable and time consuming job.
Hoping this has now fixed it completely. Certainly do not want to revisit that problem. ??

Fingers crossed. I had a never ending chase of leaks around the aerial on my Synergie. Was a pain

Hi, i've just found the reason of my airbag light flashing – i've got the leak too, drain hoses are ok so i reckon it's gonna be the front windshield… How is your job holding up? Could you give me any hints or photos how did you do it? Cheers!
