Could someone tell me where this pipe goes please

Hi all, could anyone advise please I am a 2005 1.9 expert van that's unable to start without ether, fine once started and drive and start beautifully once warm.

I know it could be one of many things but surely this pipe should have a home? I think its from the fuel pump? As you can already tell my knowledge is zero. Many thanks

and it goes into that pipe in the fuel filter housing with the nut on it

Re: Could someone tell me where this pipe goes please

It might be the water-in-fuel-filter drain therefore not meant to be linked to anything

If it's coming from the fuel filter, it's not coming from the fuel pump. The fuel pump is on the other side of the engine

As you've a 1.9 it must be the D or TD so bearing in mind the symptoms
I'll guess you may have a glow plug or glow plug relay problem.

Agreed, if it struggles to start but runs fine once warm definitely sounds like glow plugs (or relay) not working

Re: Could someone tell me where this pipe goes please

WE had this a few years ago on a Berlingo with a DW8 engine.  It was fuel draining back.  I fitted a couple of one way valves and all was good

You could test this by seeing if there's any air bubbles in the clear fuel pipe near the fuel pump

Re: Could someone tell me where this pipe goes please

Hi chaps, we all know our vans are self healing and have their own quirks and personalities but for some reason my van that would not start no way! without a quick spray of easy start has now decided it doesn't need it anymore and starts on the key more or less straight away, thing is ive tried nothing and its fixed itself ??? It will probably come back but its so weird
