My tank is plastic so it would probably crack open if someone grounded the car on the tank.
fixed it. It was a bodged joint unde the car that a previous owner did. Weird how it never triggered the empty tank warning light until now even though it showed empty tank. Maybe I had a contact issue in the instrument as well that got fixed when I cleaned it earlier. For two years it's been occasionally showing empty for a while without the light coming on, which led me to think the instrument didn't work. OBD2 data stream showed fuel in the tank too.
Fault mode changed completely today. I reached 1100 km on one tank and the warning light came on while driving. The indicator was bottomed out already as the dial stopped working prior. Now after filling the warning light is still on. It's possible I now have a faulty sender too. Probably poor contact.
OMG that was way too easy. I pulled the front surround off towards the wheel and then just one screw held the instrument cluster in place.
My van was missing the little plastic piece around the keyhole on the rear door handle so I designed a replacement:

My filter box was junk so I made an adapter for my MAF in its stock location to bypass it and added a cone filter to the down pipe instead.

First time poster. Glad I found a forum that encompasses all these cars inone place so I don't have to register in four different brand forums.
I have a 2009 Citroen Jumpy. My fuel gauge occasionally shows empty for a while before working again. The warning light doesn't come on while this happens so I think it's just the instrument that loses power and not the sender since the light does work on startup if I cycle the key to off and on. If it was the sender inthe tank it would probably light up the warning light.
Before I start removing things blindly; what's the best way to get access to the back of the instruments to check and clean the connectors? Can the top surround come off easily. I've had the whole bottom of the instrument panel off before to replace the shifter cables but never the top.
