Hi , my van was leaking diesel but only whilst the engine was running, It turned out to be the stop solenoid on the diesel pump which was leaking so a cheap fix .

It was leaking where the green plastic crown jointed on the top so a nice easy fix fortunately. Although I had already bought a complete used pump to replace it before I had had a proper look

Yeah it's not very obvious at all it looks like all the other casing bolts but slightly bigger if I remember right. And yes it's horizontal fill which is not easy if the bottles aint got pull out tube

Peugeot 306 had 1.9d and in later years the M16 engine outta the 405 so could be an easy option (If the engine weren't so scarce  )

I fitted alfa wheels and as above they are the right PCD but the taper on the bolts is wrong. The consequences of this is they loosen off! or if you over tighten they can't be undone.
I am going to replace mine with 807 or C8 which have the same taper and a bit more offset

I have a 36l Electrolux cool box, my experience is it works fine for me on 12v for a weekend away racing.
It keeps the beers and meat cool whilst the van is running on the journey to the event. I add a few ice packs just to keep it cool a bit longer

It draws a lot of power and won't run unless engine is running or 240v hook up is available,
so in my experience it wouldn't be very usable for more than a few days away in summer

They were in the rat race till they broke down I bet

On further investigation my company van had an ET70 2.5 litre  all the same it was complete shite!

I used to drive a 1993 one of them absolutely f@cking hated it! It had the Peugeot engine though and was shit slow, yours is the tranny 2.5 one I believe did they get the ford gearbox too?
The running gear was the weak point If I remember right, propshaft rear diff etc and rot, but yours looks fairly rot free from the pics.
One thing I really did like about the LDV was the adjustable timing on the windscreen wipers

These prevent movement at top mount at speed

This was hit and miss since I owned it too, I realized if I don't touch the speed control and leave it at 3/4 it keeps going.
Of course I overlooked giving my f@cking brother a lift home from the pub and him wacking it up to full after a few beers
This was nearly the last straw for this old van and like you couldn't be arsed to fix it but old good vans are hard to find so give the old gal one  last breath

If the whole lock spins it is pointless, anybody can just pry it out easily and open with a screwdriver.
If that's the case the only thing to do is replace the handle asssembly
