The Vin No is VF3BZWJB86316095. Thanks so much for all the help so far.
Sorry if I’ve uploaded too many copies, not sure what I’m doing yet!
(Yes that is a knackered expansion cap new one due tomorrow)
So, does the engine look familiar and should it take the ‘slimmer’ of the two oil coolers?
It’s definitely fatter than the one that is recommended by the registration plate detail checker.

Under the bonnet it appears identical to my old 2005 engine (DW8)
I’m struggling to find the part number of the ‘fatter’ oil cooler in Jehb’s Post.I'm a little suspicious here from what on you'r post ................
1. Is it exactly the same van as your 2005 van?
2. My van is a 2005 and has the DW8B...........
3.My pug 306 is a 2000 and has the earlier DW8 fitted ..............
Your best bet is 1. put your VIN Number into Citroen Service box it will confirm if DW8 or DW8B and also with Luck (with a little digging) give you the part number you require
Also pop the bonnet and 2. Even if you took a colour photo and posted it here ........ there are one or two visual indicators that can be seen from a clear pichttps://dispatchexpertscudo.org.uk/foru … 06-bay.jpg
This is a 306 with a DW8 ... Notice EGR intake valve has black end Not Green and NO MAF Also IIRC under the pipes and sh** if you look at the Diesel injector (Not visible in photo) nearest the gearbox it will have a trigger wire for the ECU if it's a DW8B(My 306 has A Bosch pump the Van has A Lucus Cav/Delphi pump.......... Not that it's a guaranteed difference)
Thanks Kenbw2, the van is actually a 2007 plate but I believe it’s a pre 2007 model.

Does anyone know where I can get a replacement DW8 oil cooler like the one on the left please, all I can find are the ‘slimmer DW8b coolers that apparently don’t fit.the Chassis number of my Expert is VF3BZWJB86316095.
Any help much appreciated.
bagup100.
Watch out that you get the right one. I have an earlier DW8 (the one with no ECU). I got an oil cooler off a DW8B and it was a slightly different size, and immediately leaked oil everywhere. I think mine was iron/steel and the DW8B one was aluminium too.

Left one is my DW8 one, right one is DW8B one.
I documented the process when I changed mine here: https://frenchcarforum.co.uk/forum/view … =3&t=58040
