#1 Re: Repair Manuals, Publications and other Downloads » Peugeot Expert 2.0 HDi (2005) – All four gauges stopped working » 2026-10-26 17:15:25

My diagrams show fuse F4 in the passenger fuse box supplies/protects the gauges
and power is via cable CH04F in at pin 20 and they're grounded via pin 21 on cable M004B
so I'd start there.
I assume you know there is no colour convention on PSA vehicles?
meaning you cannot ID any cables function by its colour but only by the code printed on it.
this can be a PITA at times I know, especially if you dont have the relevant diagrams.

#2 Re: Repair Manuals, Publications and other Downloads » Peugeot Expert 2.0 HDi (2005) – All four gauges stopped working » 2026-10-26 13:43:38

I've got a 2006 2.0 HDI expert and the Service Box software, plus I've printed out most of the wiring diagrams
for quick reference so I dont have to go to the pc, run VMware/XP and all the service box malarkey
just to refer to a diagram.

Yours is probably the same as mine but an RPO number from the door pillar may help

#3 Re: General Discussion » Deadlocks - rear sliding doors » 2026-10-06 14:35:10

Only making assumptions of course, but as it's near side and likely seen more use than the off side door.
I'd be giving the lock internal mechanism a close look at for accumulated wear/galling/backlash etc.
I'd probably also inspect and measure the O/S lock action to compare it to the N/S one to see
if my suspibions were confirmed.

there's a facebook group where folk are often breaking vans and flogging off bits

It'll probably attract interest from someone who needs a cheap WAV and can live with a 1.9D.
The 1.9D is simple and reliable (if looked after) but gutless and not that economical compared to the HDI.
30-38 mpg vs 45-52 approx and definitely an issue to be considered with fuel prices being so high.

#6 Re: Repair Manuals, Publications and other Downloads » Online Modern Citroën Service Box Documentation Project » 2026-09-23 11:51:09

I had a look around that link and out of curiosity fired up what I have.
Citroen/Peugeot whatever its all PSA and it looks pretty damn close to me.
If I pulled up the 806 it offered me pretty much anything I'd need but asked for an RPO or chassis number
to get more detailed info on wiring.

Interesting.
I got a copy of The Peugeot version a while back and tbh it's a bit if ball ache to use as it runs
on XP via VMware but eventually( did I say it's a PITA?)
I managed to extract and build a library of all the 2.0 HDI wiring diagrams which what I mainly wanted

Dispatch/Expert/Scudo vans don't use cable colour conventions, instead each cable has its own unique code printed on the sleeve.
When you have these, tracing cables for testing/repair/modding becomes so much easier.
It made bypassing the flakey factory remote central locking pretty easy when I changed it for
an aftermarket setup which was dead cheap but works surprisingly well.
Only 4-5 months in but the remote still works from about 40 meters away and well, it just works!.

The rest of it might be useful say for part numbers but I haven't had to run it for ages and would only do so reluctantly.

The Peugeot WSM is pretty chunky, around 20GB or so, probably because it covers so many models from the 90's to 2013
if the guy on Reddit can extract particular models and display info in useable non PITA format, best of luck to him.

#10 Re: Maintenance » Scudo 2.0jtd gearbox parts nla???? » 2026-07-21 00:44:22

I'm not really surprised individual parts are nla considering the age of the vans but
a second hand 2.0 HDI or 2.0 JTD ( both basically DW10's) gearbox may well be found at a breakers or possibly say on the Facebook MK1 group where folk are always breaking and flogging off mk1 vans and parts

#11 Re: General Discussion » How Time Flies » 2026-07-19 13:27:17

Its a shame to see so many vehicle specific forums decline as they've been such good resources.
There is a Facebook page for Mk1's but it's well....shite really, like a lot of FB
Possibly ok for buying and selling but still crap IMO.
Vehicles wear out of course or people move on but
I blame it, or at least link it to the decline of peoples attention span and inabilty to compose and string
sentences together.

#12 Re: Maintenance » Replacing my fuel tank - and scrapyard fun » 2026-06-08 01:57:43

If I had the tank out and depending on its location in regard to the chassis,
I'd be tempted to cut a hatch in the floor to get better/easy access to the pump next time.

Is it plain floor above the pump or is there say a chassis member in the way?

I'm also wondering if the HDI fuel system might fare any better due to it running a lot hotter
because of the direct injection system.

#13 Re: Maintenance » Replacing my fuel tank - and scrapyard fun » 2026-06-07 16:41:16

Is it possible your aforementioned use of wvo is a factor?

for reference
"Using Waste Vegetable Oil (WVO) as diesel fuel requires strict management, primarily because vegetable oils are highly susceptible to "diesel bug" (microbial and fungal growth). WVO contains residual water and food sugars, providing the perfect breeding ground for these organisms which can destroy your fuel filters and injection pump"

I get the wvo thing, we'd all like cheaper fuel especially nowadays, but I wouldn't do it in my HDI
and in all my years of multiple deisel vehicles I have never encountered 'deisel bug'

My 2006 2.0 HDI van came with remote central locking and it worked but the fob
the tiny buttons especially, were a fiddly PITA.
Eventually it stopped working via remote and I was forced to use a key
Oh the indignity and suffering !!
Tests showed the fob was transmitting RF so it appeared the fault was internal to the control box
and with no circuit info or interest in tearing it apart I made do.

I'd only had a brief look at how it worked and saw the voltage flipped polarity as it toggled
between lock/unlock.

Sam of Sam_loves_HDI recently joined and put a link to his vid of when he fitted a cheap Ebay
remote system to his van and pointed out how it worked
"Right Thassit!" says I "I'm having on of them too" and bought one for £13.69
This one in fact
https://www.ebay.co.uk/ipp/373764727348?

It works a treat and I get about a 40 meter range on the remote probably because It's behind the USB panel atop the dash
I also linked it to the indicators so I get them flashing during lock/unlock
The cables going to Pins 7 and 9 at the back of the hazard warning switch were easy enough to access for this

How it works:
Basically you cut cable 6291 going to the driver door lock and route it through the NC contacts of one of the new box relays
and also to the NO of the other relay with a ground on the other side.
This method allows you still be able to lock it with a key should the remote fail.

the device also has 2 cables for locking trunk/window options but I haven't looked into those yet
but I reckon they could be used to set/disarm an alarm system

If your remote has stopped working or you have an earlier model that works by key only this may be useful

My sympathies, every time I look into the engine bay the thought of servicing the head
make  me think "sod that ! I'm too old for that shit"

Dropping the turbo and pulling the head/manifold sounds like a plan, hope it works for you

Here is a diagram I found of a mk1 security keypad circuit.
I know its probably been discussed before but thought I add this
If the keypad is not working or damaged i exp you could remove the protective/security cover and
put a switched live supply to pin 1  on the pump solenoid
I recall Johndragonman saying he'd done this
OR
I'd also try the same on pin 14 of the keypad as it goes to the control relay and see what happens
it would be easier to access of course, but I'd do some tests observations and voltage readings first and work carefully
rather than just connecting up random wires hopefully.

This diagram was hastily snagged just before my VMware SEDRE went down and I'm struggling to get it
working again
I have annotated it with the main device names and hope/assume it's relevant to the earlier mk1's
with keypad security

I think it's important to note that if jumping a supply direct to the pump is done
to allow the van to be driven,
this will probably disable the interia relay circuit
and in the event of a collision, the engine wont automatically cut out, so buyer beware !

Came back from the midlands yesterday and it occurred to me that this old banger
having just been through its MOT is in the unusual state of "Everything works"
Not just MOT stuff but addons like Air Con,remote central locking, the reverse sensors and camera
and other gadgets and gizmos too

I'm too cautious to celebrate so will be quietly grateful and see how long I can keep it like this.

#18 Re: Maintenance » HDI MK2 wiring diagram » 2026-05-20 12:54:24

I have service box for the Expert which covers vehicles up to 2013
so as they are eseentially the same van with different badges the electrical
systems should be common thoughout.

The wiring diagram part does ask for an RPO number and engine type
The RPO number is on a sticker on the door pillar on mine and the diagrams I have
all seem relevant so far

#19 Re: General Discussion » Coolant loss from cap, maybe somwhere else? 2.0HDi » 2026-05-20 12:18:08

Ah!
It was kind going that way I suppose
We all tend to hope it's going to be something simple and easy to fix at first
until  reality kicks us in the arse.

Not going to try and tell you how to do the job, but would suggest you consider replacing the cam belt and water pump while you've got it apart.

BTW  I fitted one of those cheap Ebay remote cental locking gizmos the other day and it's working well
I'll put a post up about it here soon.

#20 Re: Maintenance » MOT fail? » 2026-05-13 15:47:31

Well I got the MOT today and the back box is no longer making the cab a bit whiffy
I also have a good spare stowed underneath just in case, so it's no longer taking up space inside the van
leaving me more room for the usual gubbins, odds and sods and piles of crap.  monkey

#21 Re: General Discussion » Are there wet belts in these vans? » 2026-05-13 15:36:29

I googled it and AI says
"Yes, many 2017 Citroën Dispatch (and Peugeot Expert) vans use a "wet belt" system, specifically within the 1.2L and 1.5L PureTech petrol engines.
However, if your 2017 Dispatch is a diesel (HDi), it generally uses a traditional dry timing belt rather than a wet belt system.

#22 Re: General Discussion » Coolant loss from cap, maybe somwhere else? 2.0HDi » 2026-05-10 18:05:23

It is a lot to lose so where we wonder, is it going?
Cracked cylinder wall or head or head gasket has to be considered
Also the egr and oil coolers could be an issue.

How is the heater? I had to fit a new core to mine as the old one was full of crap
so easy to get trapped air in there
Bleeding the system at the thermostat housing and top of the radiator took a few tries to get
the air out  too.

Goodluck with it, let us know how you get on

#23 Re: Maintenance » MOT fail? » 2026-05-09 12:28:57

Well it did fail on the exhaust and  a CV boot too, so not that bad for an old banger eh?
It's going in to be fixed on Tuesday and I'll hopefully soon have the old  thing road legal for another year.
BTW Exhaust back box section only £57 from Ebay so not painful.

#24 Re: General Discussion » Coolant loss from cap, maybe somwhere else? 2.0HDi » 2026-05-09 12:22:40

Hi Sam,
I have the same year Expert HDI with similar mileage 255k vs your 230k
Assuming/Hoping it isn't the head gasket....
So, it's Losing coolant over  500km/300miles.
Do you know how much it has lost in this period ?
How much do you need to add to get the level back to normal?

I can only make Guesses:
Expansion tank plastic structure or cap degrading and venting water vapour
slow leak on radiator/hoses or bleed screw at top of rad
slow leak around thermostat housing
I know from my own work there is a pipe behind the engine that goes from the engine block to the heater core
and this returns to the header tank
so any slight leaks here may not be easy to spot.

Sometimes if a head gasket is failing you'll get a somewhat sweet smell at the exhaust
from the antifreeze
I have experienced this on motor bikes which are obviously petrol engines so not so sure
if this is as noticeable on a diesel.

Thanks for your Youtube link, I have bookmarked it to be studied later
I have remote central locking which works via key but the Remote doesn't
the fob puts out RF but the van doesn't respond so have a cheap EBay keyfob remote system
I want to hack in after I get the MOT work done.
