Thanks pal.
It's been sound deadened and insulated with Dodo material. Carpeted and lined.
Rear cab LED lighting with a leisure battery.
Cupboards where the rear arches are for minimum storage.
I would put a photo up but struggling to remember how to.
I've put an advert on Gumtree if you can be bothered searching for it.
If you have an idea on a fair price for seller and buyer then give me a shout.
Cheers
So anyhows... Anyone any ideas on price range I should offer my van with a knackered engine?
112,000 miles, 1.9L, body solid.
Any ideas will give me an idea what to ask for it when I put up an add.
Cheers folks
Thanks for both your inputs.
Niggling things started bothering me about this van but yeah it's what it's worth to me.
One of the strong points of the van when I bought was it's solid body.
But I will check the sub frame over. Cheers for the reminder.
Thanks for the advice Oats.
I may have someone who maybe be able to assess and help with the possible damage.
Prices of used cars are a joke! Just been looking and USED 2010 Hybrid cars asking prices are way out there man. Wowsers!!
Hi pal,
1.9L engine.
The engine does not turn over.
The RAC opened the cam belt cover and the belt was loose. He said it was shredded.
I am surprised it went because I had the timing belt and pullies done in Dec 2020.
Getting a new engine would be the way to go but I am reluctant in spending anymore ££ on it. Also I am fed up as other bits started doing my head in ie door handle does not work, locking mechanism shite etc.
I am looking for a new car but unsure on what to get (hybrid, electric etc) with all this low emissions rulings.
Any idea of its value Dragon man?
Hello peeps,
It appears that my 2004 Citroen Dispatch van (111, 702 miles) may have met its match last night.
Over the last four weeks, there was an noise coming from the engine which sounded like the fan was progressively becoming nosier and more rattily. Something finally went and it konked out into a garage forecourt.
Anyway cut a long story short, the RAC came out and reported that the cam belt had gone.
I am unsure if the engines knackered and will need to test by fitting a new timing belt and see if it still works or scrap it.
The van had been modified into a camping van ie insulated, carpeted, leisure battery, internal light.
I know of someone who is looking for a works van and is hands on with mechanical stuff so he might well be interested in taking up the challenge.
So, my question is how much is it worth?
Unknown if the engine is damaged or not. A simple timing belt fix could be a quick fix?
What would be a reasonable asking price in this situation?
Your input would be appreciated.
Thanks

What's your plans with regards to the clean air zone charges?
Hi,
I got the following NCC rated and approved leisure battery from:
https://www.alpha-batteries.co.uk/115-a … power-115/
I could have got it cheaper on ebay but I wanted somewhere to return it should it goes wrong within the warranty period. The leisure battery has been useful in charging mobile phones up - my mate who hasn't had a leisure battery fitted is always using mine.
I made a unit to house the leisure battery on one side and the other a carpenter made me a unit to house the chinese heater. I do have photos but i can't remember how to upload photos...to taxing on my brain to dig out this info.
I've yet to actually install the heater as I need extra long intake and exhaust pipes to take the fumes out underneath the van.
Hope my info helps.
Good advice Bat man. Why didn't I think of that. Simples lol.
Cheers man.
Guys,
How safe is it to actually screw into the rear nearside floor for securing cabinet base?
My mate did so on the Off Side when install a leisure cabinet cuboard as you can see in earlier post/pics.
Another friend mentioned it is not advisable due to being on the fuel tank side, he also thinks its a bad idea full stop as there are pipe lines that could sit under the flooring.
Your thoughts on this gentleman?
Cheers
Thanks for the link mate.
Porta loo - Aldi.
Sounds good. Ta for the low down Casp.
Now that it has been mention - 'loo cassette'... which ones should I purchase? Any advice will be good as I don't have a clue about them. I haven't go tto that stage yet as I am still doing my conversion.
Cheers folks.
Gonna be carnage from the 12th I imagine.
I don't want it that remote where they can't find me if I go missing!
But I understand your concern though. The news recently showed a spot in the lakes where a large group of people tresspassed onto a farmer's land (smashed through gate) and left a pile of waste, got moved on by the police - only to do it again nearby.
Blatant disregard for others. Rude, selfish vermin!
Keep us updated on the private/subforum bud. Looking forward to see beautiful UK places!
Cheers Stu-D
Ha ha. Old school that! Nice picture though.
Thanks for the info Oat. I'll check them out.
Hi Oat,
So many cheap ones about that are battery operated and have a replacement date.
There doesn't seem to be any 'Ring' detectors knocking about.
My search will continue for a decent dual sensor alarm. I've been checking the trio gas alarm...seems to be the better one out of them all so far ... but still haven't made my mind up yet.
Hi,
Any decent 12v Dual Sensor Gas Alarms (C02, LPG etc) that anyone can recommend for my mini camper?
I am looking to install a Chinese Diesel heater so would like to install a sensor alaem.
Cheers
Ah ok. Thanks Casper.
@Casper
I don't know what you mean mate.
I wished I knew about them before purchasing my durite split relay.
