Hah! Did we not warn you about the doors?
It's a proper design flaw. Take a close look at the contours of the leading edge of the sliding doors and you'll see that they actually can't possibly sit flush with all of the surfaces around them.
The taxi versions of these vans, and the people-carrier versions were fitted with colour-coded wind deflectors to overcome this problem, presumably to make being in the back of the vehicle bearable!

goody33 has been looking into whether it's possible to remove these .. but they seem well bonded. So buying taxi door might be only option! Or make your own deflectors?
Only other thing you can do is make sure the doors are closing properly (or as properly as is possible!) - make sure the locator on the leading edge of the door is going neatly into the plastic guide on the pillar. The locators are adjustable so you can move them if they're hitting the bodywork.
Yep usually just me .. or me and a border terrier.
With the two of you and a rottie I'd be tempted to fit a vent too!
Just to make sure you've got enough oxygen apart from anything else
I used one of these in my T4 and will do the same with the Scudo.
That's a pretty tidy looking solution.
My experience is that you'll get condensation with or without a vent in cooler weather.
It's not necessarily a bad idea to have one - but I don't think it'll stop condensation.
I don't have windows in the back - and virtually no exposed metal - so only condensation happens on the glass in the front.
That coupled with my dead heater blower means it can take 10 minutes to get my glass sorted out in the morning!
Not the end of the world.
Tiree,
My blue van had one, but the taxi didn't. I wondered if it was some kind of heating vent or air recirculation vent, but truth is I don't have a clue.
The blue van no longer has it, as the taxi interior trim won't fit with it in place.
Not for heating. It joins on to a large pipe that just exits under the vehicle, with a sort of simple valve to allow air out but not in. Totally stumped!
For the record - I stuffed the whole thing full of insulation and closed it up
BTW - does anyone know the purpose of that black vent behind the wheel arch?
Just found a pic of my nice clean floor before the ply went down:

Bloody heck. How clean is that. Almost a shame to cover it up
Was just thinking - that's probably the cleanest it's ever going to be!
That's the spot. I've never stopped overnight there - but there's nothing to stop you doing so.
It can get some pretty mental weather!
20 minutes up the road and you're at Inveraray. Park up outside the Inveraray Jail museum and spend the evening in great company in the brilliant bar at the George Hotel.
Replicate them you say?
Now you're talking
You might be better to play it safe, leave them on, and try to sell the doors with deflectors intact.
Had a feeling they'd be more or less immovable!
Shame.
Ahh the mystical wind deflectors!
Dying to know the truth!
Goody they're def there on the front door of your taxi:

You might want to check your relay as well before pulling everything apart....
Thanks Gareth - that's the only thing I have actually tried so unless the replacement relay I got from ebay was also dud - I need to dig deeper!
Haaha! Such a great spot isn't it?
Only time I've ever thought the van might actually blow over was up there .. positive I was close to being on two wheels at one point!
At the Rest and Be Thankful
Another advantage of not having windows is having a full-wrap insulation inside

Kicking off this thread to encourage myself to get more photos up of my van.
It's been with me through 25k miles, 2.5 years and a timing belt disaster (another story I need to tell!)
I sometimes get a bit jealous of some of the bright & airy camper conversions I see going on around here - mine pretty much still looks like an off-the-shelf white van from the outside .... (here we are at Kilncadzow, Lanarkshire a couple of weeks back) ...

But that was always the plan. I spend as much time visiting cities, towns and villages as I do camping wild so being stealthy makes town-dwelling a breeze
Inside though it's a proper cosy nest and has been a great wee home for 50 or 60 happy nights.
More soon ...
Great stuff Casper - quite handsome in navy innit
Need to get some up to date photos of where I'm at ...
Woohoo!
Congrats Dolomite
Love hearing other folks journeys with these vans .. !
Keep us posted
Right so, unplugged the stereo and there's no battery connection that switches off with the ignition, only the permanent connection from the battery. And we volt tested it and it's 12V. So, the right cable is connected, otherwise the radio wouldn't even switch on. It seems that the stereo remembers its connections for a minute or two, but any longer, three or four minutes switched off and it's reset itself. Strange, must be something to do with the battery maybe.
Well that's odd.
There should definitely be two power cables, my 2006 Dispatch has one red (ignition switched 12v) and one yellow (constant from battery 12v). All head units I've ever dealt with require both. The one cable (from the battery) you've found is likely feeding into the ignition switched socket on the head unit (see original post on connectors 4 and 7 on the ISO A connector ^). This means that even though the wire has a constant supply, it's not feeding into the constant supply socket so it won't have constant power.
Need to find that other wire!
Then swap them over.
Thanks for sharing this Gareth .. My heater blower's been dead for over a year and I've just been putting off trying to get to the bottom of it.
Feeling inspired to try to get it nailed now

Yep .. it should def be off at the extreme left position.
Welcome Will!
Excuse my v quick reply ..
Also, installed a new stereo, but, every time I switch off engine it loses power and resets the whole thing, anyone else have an issue there? Would like to connect up to remotes on steering wheel but not essential. Radio is Pure H270SB so need to find and fit a replacement DAB aerial. Will probably sort out when put in electrics and extra battery.
In their wisdom, Citroen have swapped connectors 4 and 7 on the black ISO power connector. You can swap these back yourself at the connector, or further up the line if that's easier.
One of these will not only fix the issue, but will also hook up your steering controls :-) .. There's more on this here
Welcome again - hope you find plenty more help here.

Spot-on Casper .. painful's the word!
Need to chin the hosts in the morning .... ta for patience!
