Mains Power

I was not going to bother but last night i noticed a hook up for the side of the van can be had for as low as £15. I was thinking just two double sockets so what do i need?

Hook up flex
Van Hookup socket
Two double internal sockets
Same wire i would use indoors for sockets
Small fuse box

Is it that simple? Any pics of what you did. I am no spark but did the odd wire job and added sockets into houses before so not shy.

Cheers

Re: Mains Power

I used one of these in my T4 and will do the same with the Scudo.

I then run a fly lead with a plug on it to the back of some secondary sockets.

The hook up with rcd was housed at the bottom of the cupboard to the right and a cable with a plug on ran up to the back of the sockets.

Good thing was I could take it out of the van and use it elsewhere if needed.

That's a pretty tidy looking solution.

Re: Mains Power

That was my intention Phil but it would mean bringing it in or leaving a window slightly open at night. I may still go down that road with this van but i need to decide soon. I was just going to pay for my discount card (£5) and use Go Outdoors

Re: Mains Power

Some what embarrassed
1, I didn't fit it.
2, Way over my head how it's wired/works
Dispatch-4_Snapseed.jpg

But apparently:- Plug in patch lead to van hook up socket and it powers mains 3pin sockets (breaker box-bottom)
It also charges the Leisure battery at same time then the van battery ? (middle box),
(fuse box on top, leisure battery circuit?) and what ever other black magic/juujuu for everything else when plugged in
