Have you tried using some sort of injection cleaner? Made a huge difference on mine.
Isnt black smoke telling its oil in the exhaust fumes?
I have no rear washer.
I do have headlight washers.
But googling jumpy windscreen washer makes the one with the green connector come up.
Checking eper at the fiat forum, I can't really tell if there is one or two pumps. It's only one switch in the car for both washers as I think it's the same pump.
I found an identical pump (with the green connector) at a Swedish aftermarket car parts store fitting a 90s Volvo. I think I'll try it out. Right now my front is still off, so its need to fix it to be able to drive the car. (Too lazy to put it back and then off again)
Hello!
My next project was to fix the washer for my jumpy.
The original issue was that when I was refilling it, my feet got wet..
Removed the front bumper and noticed a hole in the reservoir. I can see I am obviously missing a part. Found a gasket for my houses floor heating system which fitted perfectly. Its the white part. But then I tried filling it up and trying it and nothing happened. The right part would be the pump if I'm correct. I tried another pump and then it works, so its probably the pump. Ill try to find a new one.
I have two cable coming down. One with a Green connector, reaching to the Green connector on the pump, and one with a black connector, reaching to the missing part so probably it's supposed to go there

Now to my real question. Does anyone know what the circled part is and do I need it? Edit: could it be the "low level" sensor?

now they're all changed.
It was way easier than I anticipated, the Internet can really wind you up.
As for the one behind the injection pump, I borrowed a key from a neighbour, don't know what the English name is but it looks like this. Worked like a charm.

The second from left I used a straight key, and the two right ones I used an extender and a long socket. I had the fuel filter emoved but I don't think it really mattered.
I have soaked the plugs in WD 40 two times a day since a week back, as I'm commuting with the van.
All my white smoke upon starting is now gone and it starts much easier.
Found this diagram for snother car but with the same motor.

Here its connected as i did.
Edit: Its mirrored to reality
Ive now fitted it as priming pump-> fuel filter inlet (bottom connection) and the fuel filter outlet (top connection) to injection pump.
Right or wrong, it does work.
I don't think the primer pump should be between the filter and injector.
@KenBw: you have the same motor, don't ya? Can you double check?
Ive driven around 20km with it with this setup. If I've connected it wrong surely it wouldn't run...

Where does the fuel line from the primer pump go?
I'm thinking it should go directly to the lower connector on the fuel filter housing? Or does it go on the top connector?
I csnt figure it out from the picture.
Two out of four changed!
Went better than expected. Almost shat myself on the second one as I thought I snapped it, but it was just coming loose.
Tomorrow I'll give a try with the two on the left.
As I'm changing glow plugs, I thought I'd try to refit the original fuel filter.
I started taking the original filter casing off to change the O ring underneath. Then I found this part.
What does the fuel filter housing sit on? Seems it's connected to the cooler in some way? Is it som sort of pre heater? And why the grooves/maze? The same pattern appears under the fuel filter casing.

This is my friend to unscrewing even the most rusted screws
Yes I've read that they could be at risk of snapping.
Ive started to treat them with WD-40 and rust removal today. Still waiting for the plugs.
Should be easier if the motor os warm when changing as well. (I.e. not running, but warm)
Ive seen some people put som kind of ceramic lubricant on the threads to keep them from sticking all too much. Have anyone had any experience from that and what product to use?
fuses?
Updste:
Today i took some more pictures of the original fuel filter, dint know if I should post them here or in a new thread, seems I'm opening lots of threads.
I also took some pictures of the glow plugs. Here they are

The glow plugs are marked in blue.
As you said kenbw2, the two on the right seems easy enough, the two on the left, behind the fuel pump, seems a bit tougher - though I think its doable without removing the pump.
Regarding the harness, is there any reason to change it or just brush the connectors with a brass brush, what could be wrong with it??? Its just cables and connectors
Also, Read somewhere to not only wait for the glow lamp to go off but to wait until the relay clicks, about 20-30 secs after the light goes off and it makes such a difference in staring the van. Waiting 30 seconds starts it right up. This would suggest bad glow plugs, or am I misinterpreting my van?
I'm 100% sure the yellow circled one is a fuel filter.
The interesting this is how they fitted it. It sits right in front of the primer pump. Probably just cut the cable there.
But I ordered a new fuel filter a while back which I couldn't fit of course, because I didn't know how to open the can and I saw it was from a cheap Swedish aftermarket car parts chain.
I checked online yesterday and found that the bottom fuel filter seal usually leaks so I ordered a new one for about 5 euro. I'll try and refit the original fuel filter seal and filter when doing the glow plugs.
Reason for glow plug change is part learning, part trying to get rid of the white smoke. It's a bit hard on the start
Changing fuel filter and new gp's.would not make it worse...
Yes. I checked the owners guide I found on the download page and it says that the filter is the red circled one as well.
In the owners guide they have the oil filler up where the inline filter is...
But as I have no water drainage from the inline filter, wouldn't that explain my white smoke?
I'll try to use the original filter.
But then I'll need to change the tubing...

Updated it with colors
I thought the turquoise thing was the starter, but you're right of course
The yellow one is my fuel filter. But the red one looks like a fuel filter as well, but what is it?
Hi
I will now embark on the next step of fixing my Jumpy.
I'm about to change glow plugs and fuel filter.
I've detected the glow plugs, but it need some support in changing them.

I have found no videos on how to change in this model. Other motors seem to be simpler, just taking off the intercooler.
In my case, it looks like I need to remove the starter, coolant container and whatnot to change the glow plugs?
Out of interest, Google Translate says
Skapbil = box truck
Skåpbil = vanIs that right?
No, skapbil doesn't exist. Bil is car, skåp is a box or a wardrobe/container.
As for why, its broken in lots of places and sits due to someone putting 20 rivets through it.
Can't find any at the scrap yards either.
Hi!
Looking for a new front bumper for my jumpy.
Found this on autodoc for a decent prize.
But autodoc says It doesn't fit my car? Checking under compatible vehicles, it says It fits the petrol version and the diesel version.
Is it just autodoc seeing wrong?
Yeah, checked the other side and it was just cut higher up.
So apparently it had sensors once upon a time.
Don't think my 98 is equipped with that. But it crossed my mind as well...
Love this. I have the exact same problem with my 98. Wonder if the same solution will fix it.
Though I don't have clue where the diesel pump is situated. Does anyone have a picture or know of a video?
Found this cable hanging inside my front RH side wheelhouse. When checking the LH wheelhouse I can't se any cable.
Does anyone know where it's supposed to go. I reckon it went somewhere sometime.

Click "Uploads" upload your photos and then insert them.
About the fuel pump I have no idea, sadly.
Wikipedia has a pretty good overview. I'll try to find the link later
