One of my next jobs is to get a set of 806/syn tweeters for the dash corners if I can find some.
Despite PSA regularly putting crap paper speakers in the doors that fall apart after a few years, I've always found the dash tweeters to be of decent performance on the many picassos I've owned.

How are they wired? Are they in parallel with the door speakers and capacitors added or are they built in seeing as they're oem?

Thanks Ken,

I think I read (with disappointment) a post of your's a few weeks back regarding the synergie attempt as I'd specifically searched for that possibility

I'll give it a go after I've ironed a few gremlins out, I bought the 1.9d for scrap value (belt failure) to take bits off it so going to take the door mechanisms/brackets/sliders etc off as they're smoother than mine and don't look half as rough

Garage did my timing belt and I heard a bit of a bearing sound so had to ease the tensioner slightly myself (cheers guys?)

Then after reassembly noticed my brand new alternator died - looks like the brush box has gone already after 40 miles (diodes live in there too I'm guessing). Not sure if the one on the doner van would be the same but I'll have a look tomorrow when I can so I've got something for when I return this one

Love the van but it seems to crave my attention!

Hi all, does anyone know if it's OK to put a 1.9d (05) instrument cluster on a 2.0 hdi (06).

I'm aware that the mileage will correct to the highest but looking at the sticker on the doner cluster I can see its programmed for maintenance at 10000. That in itself is fine as I have my own schedule anyway but it got me thinking is there anything else of note? Does the fuel gauge act differently or is there any other programming inside that may cause unwanted/unexpected behaviour etc

These vans seem reasonably simple electrically compared to the consumer vehicles of the same age so I was tempted to just plug in but knowing PSA I thought I'd double check for any surprises

When I broke my MAF with a fat finger poking where it shouldn't I had similar symptoms.

I'd start off slow and without increasing pressure on the accelerator pedal much, all of a sudden it would find it's wind and start accelerating as if I was slamming my foot down. A new MAF fixed mine but it was the obvious thing as I was there when it broke lol

I've been lurking here for a week and this is a very old thread to post my first comment but in case anyone else has this problem, the solution for me was to simply replace a bulb. I can't be 100% sure which one caused it as I had a few new failures when disturbing the old bulbs to replace some already blown ones, but I'm reasonably sure it was the engine management bulb blowing that caused my dash to start flashing STOP with no other warning. Once all the the instrument bulbs were back in, the STOP stayed off.

I'll also add, this site has been an excellent resource for helping me give a little love to a van that had a very hard life with its previous owners.
