Hardly fake I'm afraid I've seen that photo before that was up for sale in Kirkaldy in Fife IIRC

and I vaguely remember one called the Extra Stimson in a magazine (weird looking wobbly tall thing)........Although you may be right they might have some kind of connection to those C15 champ Romahome's
Well blow me it's real! no connection to c15 they actually designed this for a clio. mad heads 
Casper I almost bought one of them sierra starship things it was the Cortina based one with 6 wheels, petrol version though so walked away.
On the bedford theme I quite like these, probably cheaper than that mash up clio too

Yeah i like them to but i prefered the 70's ones with sliding front doors.
I bet they did'nt sell a lot of them facelift models, i think they were competing with the first smiley transits

I remember telecom ones, they also put the engine in the right place next to the driver instead of in the load space/living at the back of the van

Hi, I was told by an ex peugeot mechanic that a big problem with the DW8 engine when replacing the original cambelt, was that the bolts holding the crankshaft pulley would regularly sheer due to strong loctite and torque settings from the factory build.
Apparently when this happened at the main dealer they just replaced the engine! I was worried that mine could be on the original belt at 144k, but i was assured that if the worse happened he used a local machine shop to remove threads re tap etc and i would only have to wait an extra day for return of the van.
So to cut a long story short he knew the belt had been changed at least once,when he started work on the van.
The cambelt itself is not visible without removig quite a few things,but I belive the crankshaft pulley bolts are accesible without removing anything so this could be a good place to check

I would repair the engine if I were in your position and commited to keeping it on the road, you have the time knowledge and the facilites to do it, so replacing with used or reconditioned would be a risk!
My van is my every day driver so if i was placed with the same problem i would probably buy another and break this one for parts because it would be the most cost effective for me. But it is a fine balance isn't it!
I have replaced most of the running gear on mine, wishbones cv joints track rods etc, but if the engine were to let go shes not worth the time or effort, £800 buys a good running van

There is one lower screw located above the ignition cowling on the right hand side, awkward to get to so probably wasn't replaced last time it was removed

Blimy mate i had to remove the door card completley to do mine, i wouldn't have believed possible with door card in place.
But i was changing door locks as well anyway so not to bitter

Hi, i had the same problem when i replaced N/S mirror with new from ebay, fine until 50mph then vibrates.
The only answer is to find genuine second hand or new OEM from dealer
And as you say feeding the cable through is really difficult! but possible, it took me about an hour with string, pliars, blood sweat and tears.
