Sounds and feels a lot louder than in the video

Shafts should be the same length as they are the same ones that were in when it wasnt making the noise?

Really can't figure out what's wrong with it must be something to do with the shafts as that's all I've taken out but they all look seated fine.

Either end isn't fully in, I bet if you drive it, it would be only worse.

Also, "in the air" differential  (rather simple in theory mechanism) should engage one wheel only, by physically applying resistance you can get the other to engage.... Sorry to point it out, but it could be it, that's been somehow whacked something out of place in order to be changing which wheel turns.

#77 Re: Maintenance » 2014 dispatch grinding driveshaft HELP » 2024-06-18 21:38:24

Streamable to upload the video, anonymously if you like (just don't log in).

From what you describing it sounds, as your shafts are too long and once moving it puts itself under stress, literally could snap either end any second... Hope not.

If job was done by the garage, they should put it right (fit correct length shafts), but these days there are so many "all sorts" .

From what you've described, this is the best I can guess for whatever is wrong with it.

#78 Re: Maintenance » heater core decrap » 2024-06-18 20:14:32

wow, the coolant must've never been clogged and then a bit.
VV nice pumpy thingy.

that sort of clogging up is impossible to achieve if you try... or easily achieved, if you'd add rad sealant x2 or x3 times, what's recommended OTT and leave it  "as is"

"holds few things crossed" for you to NOT to find leaks, something like in a rad, where welds are or else, due to "unnatural" jam you had in there... and believe you me I had bangers in my time, but never anything like it glasses

Didnt bother to test it.
It was tucked behind the drivers seat as it had a Pioneer stereo in there when bought
and can only assume it was being kept to be reinstalled when the van was sold.

Depends, if you got intact connector (3'rd) , wiring and steering wheel controls... or something might been messed up and changed for exact that reason.
Talking about Pugs, my 5008 is so clever, but radio control stork under wipers does my head in

Edit
Uh  power wires. Power on and main loom on need been swapped back inside connector! (same colour wires)

BIG set up and yes, you'd need live paid thingy, but people get around on other people accounts or.... use the maps, I posted, ask one of them to test it for you.

I've got one of them ELM320 or something and it can't do sh*t, doesn't even connect properly

#86 Re: General Discussion » Is There A Problem With Scudo Nearside Outer CV Boots? » 2024-06-04 17:40:18

I'd double check lower control arm all joints for play, as definitely shouldn't be that bad.
Also, check for play in the wheel bearing, failing that, the clip, that holds drive shaft in the transmission is worn out- missing and shaft slides in too deep, pulling it out of hub/stump/mount

When I recently bought my 2006 Expert I was told it had a 16V engine  but
I'm not sure how to confirm this either.

Its down as 2.0 HDI and has RHZ designation in the logbook not sure where the engine number is
on the block but the logbook says the engine number begins with DYUU

Apparently the 16vs have twin cams, the primary driven by the cambelt like the others
and the other camshaft driven by a chain under the rocker cover.

Edit:

Going by this wiki page

https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/PSA_EW/DW_engine#DW10

I suspect I have the 8v
"DW10 ATED / RHZ     109 PS (80 kW; 108 hp)
common rail Turbo-diesel air/air exchanger catalyst"

I'm fine with that, it goes well enough for me as its pretty lively when you put your foot down
and I want reliability and decent economy from this old thing over more power.

17 year old got to be DW8 THE BEST engine, as all later ones "improved" so much it's poop.

DW8
edit
The DW8 is for all intents and purposes an evolution of the XUD9 and was the only diesel engine in the family not to feature a turbocharger or common-rail direct injection. It was mainly used in vans such as the Citroën Berlingo and Peugeot Partner but can also be found in more affordable versions of the Peugeot 206 and 306. The DW8 was phased out in 2007 as it does not pass Euro 4 emissions regulations (it is a Euro 3 engine[1]). The DW8 is matched to the BE manual 5-speed and has 127 N⋅m (94 lb⋅ft) of torque.[4]

Specifications

Displacement: 1.9 L (1,868 cc)

Valves: 8 valve, single overhead cam

Bore x Stroke: 82.2 mm × 88 mm (3.24 in × 3.46 in)

Compression Ratio: 23.0:1[5]

Power output: 71 PS (52 kW; 70 hp)

Torque: 127 N⋅m (94 lb⋅ft) at 2500 rpm

Production Start Date: 1 June 2000

#91 Re: General Discussion » 2011 DISPATCH UNDER BONNET FUSE BOX. » 2024-05-24 18:50:53

Fuse box (BSM) isn't programmable, whilst ECU and BSI (onboard fuse box-computer) are both programmable. Don't trust anyone to be 100% promising to reprogram those correctly regardless of price they are charging for.
It always is a lottery buying used items, if those are 100% working with or without their knowledge either. IE, if replacing one or the other you'll unplug ANY connection before you've disconnected the battery and given it 3 mins ro power down, you might cause irreparable damage to those.

Fitting identically looking, items don't mean nothing, as (BSM apart) you'll need them functional as per what model, what parameters and fearures they support.

Fitting (looking identical), but different PN BSM makes me giggle a bit these days, after learning bit more about them.
Instead of messing about in going round some missing features, possibly burning something in the process, I'd highly recommend getting correct part of fleabay, be it twice, in case one doesn't work and just fit back as it's meant to be.
Once again, disconnect battery, give it 3 mins to power down completely before touching any connections.

Once again, as good, as their part fiches are- DON'T buy anything, unless you are ready to wait for 2 months, pay import and VAT charges on the top of the shipping costs (on the top of the part price indicated) x3 fold.

Hi,
I'm new to these vans but not cars vans generally

grab the sticky uppy bit and peel it back as these rubber weather strips
usually have 'teeth' gripping the metal.
It might be glued though, if so I would try the same method but with possibly some
moderate heat to soften the glue.
Lifting the already warped section will probably tell you how its fixed and the best method for removal.

If you want to be really careful you could try running a plastic or wooden pry bar
along it to lift it off the lip of the door.

Once off, examination may tell you why it warped and if it's possible to straighten it
as not sure parts availability on these things

This!

And them trims get whooped once rust pushes them up or them "clamping" edges begin to fade away.

Try for the sake of trying, could end up annoying extensive for what's it worth. As long as that outer rubber isn't completely crumbled up - you don't get all water ingress straight in, just from aesthetics point of view hardly worth bother.

Pug what I've got, it's SN doesn't recognise it or whatever. My Citro Dispatch, Ive no SN to even test either, but annoyingly the other variant in Cyrillic - I just couldn't understand what was it.
RegW posted combo is the best, if you could get it working, but so far, Ive spend more than a day and perhaps my CPU (Int pI 3) isn't having enough caching size, although by any othe VM parameters it's capable to run, so I left it as just whatever it is, as in VM-file combo reg or something

I know I'm saying, I know nothing about the mechanical things, but what I know-I know and best bit of my knowledge is that over here most of them are rip-off monkey wrenches, when paying money for the job to do, doesn't mean that'll be fixed, god forbid, there's something else wrong, they wouldn't know...

#98 Re: Maintenance » Dispatch Electrical issue? » 2024-05-18 12:26:10

MK2 onwards are known to have whole shabang of "safety features", that might have put error in anything considering rather major breakdown to not to start.
I'd say to do BSI reset procedure to clear them codes (on youtube) might be of help, but I wouldn't hold my breath, as anything from failing alternator (the actual reason for breakdown) or a crank sensor or conncetion anywhere in-between could be throwing some tantrums

#99 Re: Maintenance » Drivers door won't open » 2024-05-15 15:32:22

I bet she's been "motorway, low miles used" before you got her!  roll
Saying it, I had mine stuffed with wooden fibres by someone... That presumably failed to get in using screwdriver... Used pincers, lubricants got it clean and working, but that was lucky, lucky, lucky escape .

On a positive you can replace lock and key, minor fob reprogramming will be required, as once they start going wrong, they aren't easily repaired and will let you down big time.
