#101 Re: Maintenance » Drivers door won't open » 2024-05-12 17:10:31

sounds like you've tried the opening handle from inside.
Depending on a trim, them "cards" (insides) sometimes are separate 3 sections, so that'll be less to replace, but even once cutting in access it's not guaranteed, you'll open it, as the lock itself is almost closed mechanism... and it's secured to the door.
I'd say looks up on fleabay whole door, before trying anything drastic, but drastic it might end be

#102 Re: Maintenance » Odometer display » 2024-05-12 01:50:42

Whilst they do go wrong, they are scroll through to display last service and trip mileage... Which is nothing of any value to you.
Very common to have them clocked and have it done properly both clocks and ECU will show whatever they wish for. If it wasn't clocked properly mileage gets to be displayed of whichever had higher value, but it also records tampering, meaning it will show warning message at each start up.
The only way to clear those is complete ECU and BSI reset, that costs few pennies, more than just clocking.

In short, if you already seen something "iffy", it absolutely is!  These days to find an honest van is bit like to win lottery.

#104 Re: General Discussion » My 'New' van » 2024-04-27 00:22:18

My mate did mine cambelt, he had engine suspended in the air, RHS mont completely off, lifting the van and dropping almost together with engine support several times....
Give it to mechanic and good one at that, it's fairly heavy on knowledge and equipment jobbie.

@RegW
give this one a spin
https://picpick.app/

@tee_cee
on this version it's 9.6.2 VM built in English
ePgziq1.jpeg

Makes me think-try to load this package VM, but to try to open your database...
Bottom line, I'll try to do screen recorder on each page in one archive like

£4.50 ATM

Which made me check my van rack- yes, there's one leaky unopened (empty) and one opened, but full, so it seems I only used one, but mine was just rust-murky coolant, in order to have blockages flushed, might need x2 or x3 (that turns out I had ready)

Its a 12Gb rar archive, which decompresses into a 20Gb XP virtualbox image https://www.virtualbox.org/wiki/Downloads
The XP is in Russian but that does make any difference - Servicebox is in Russian also but this can be changed to English.
Tested OK on virualbox 6.0.4

Those svg files are in fact svgz (zipped) files. Renaming them might make them viewable. I think they fixed this in later versions. Heres the version I use https://dispatchexpertscudo.org.uk/foru … 7424#p7424

Nope, what's been done is to rip the database in to VM files, that are only viewable on particular VM, what I thought (hoped) it would've been .img file, I could have mounted it XP burner, but it doesn't recognise it as none image file format.
So back to the W10 (x64) and XP VM (x86 or x32 depending on understanding), but I get it to load up to vehicle selection, that inputting VIN is needed, but it doesn't load any...

In the way it's clever, that rip is mounted via XP environment, so not exactly big deal from copyrights perspective, but
it's stupid, that the files aren't possible to view in any other way, even they are there, not hidden, but locked to the only "supplied" XP VM

I saw/hear/read that dish washer tablets can be used to flush rads
true? false?

Not a clue, but rad-flush thingies like £4 at EuroCarParts.
However, ignore direction to need be flushing within half an hour as it takes more than that to get from bottle filler through the system by cooling/heating up excess.
as it comes to flushing (draining) do let me know, if you'll find better option than long nose pliers on the main pipe in to the engine, at 4 O'clock looking at the engine

#112 Re: Maintenance » Pug service info (I think) » 2024-04-25 16:21:48

well, well, well on VM not finding no vehicles by VIN

Got XP loaded, doesn't recognise the .img file to load up either

Could be the activation, that sort off says registers etc, but long story short
It beat me!

ONLY 3 Hrs, you must tell me your lottery numbers for Sat then (and your post code), where I live (in the sticks) that would've been 24hrs or more, if at all possible. I'm lucky, if I get 6MB/s Dl and 2MB/s up

Perhaps. But on this board it always is down to long standing members to help out people with questions from personal experience and knowledge. Most 9f the threads do "slide" somewhat, nice of you to consider.

Zip

Not sure if it's DL or torrent or else, I'll be home by 6,30, I'll give it a shot to DL, try get something/anything useful out of it. Thinking off my old laptop is deff x86 w7, I might have had a blank partition on it, if bootloader will allow it, to install old XP in full, that'll be a blast!
Mind you with my internet "speed"- crawling like sloweness it'll be ready for whenever in the morning.

If you have the DL link and willing to share that is!  Or PM me, for fun at least

Driver seat tear is design to be so, very very rare to find one, that doesn't have "signature feature".

Well done in finding that manual, not sure how or who will find a use to it.

Cheers!

1- bargain

2- explains why no-one has made each individual van simple .pdf copy

3- what to do with it? Not a clue TBH, clearly to rip and upload not exactly small, perhaps to pay web hosting server, but, but , but...

Personally not sure, if I can run VM on my PC, thanks for a very kind offer none the less
Even though, I've got CD-ROM, I'm slightly bemused the size of it being 13gb, DVD's were up to 8gb or something, unless that's fully installed size on HD, you was quoting.

#119 Re: General Discussion » surging idle/tickover when radiator fans are running » 2024-04-24 12:30:16

strangely ejects the CD from the player

Absolutely typical for cursed vehicles, should"ve mentioned it at the first post.

The only reliable remedy known is to burn it or get ghost busters team in, but they are busy or dead by now.
That's what most honest mechanics say, whilst others don't touch them with a barge stick.

However, you seem to be determined to fix it, googling "ECU testing" might lead you to the ever so clever people, able to do something with them at extortionate prices without any obligations or warranties implied.
Please note, that both ECU and BSI are programmable and need be tested/programmed in conjunction with the other, so if one or the other need be replaced it rarely works out from SH components whilst new ones very close to a grand (some are over) including VAT

Temp sensor on the engine
Knackered water pump
BSI knackered

Possibilities are endless TBH, what you described could even be something like pipe blockage...

#122 Re: General Discussion » My 'New' van » 2024-04-22 14:25:38

an ex'butchers (refrigerated) van. They somehow rustied the least, but chassis is the same across the board- miles better, than any Fords or Mercs.

Looks hell of a nice example from pictures so far, but... as soon, as you start stripping get yourself big rill of 4mm foil-bubble wrap ("Radiator flashing" from Screwfix) and "spray on carpet adhesive", that'll make hell of a positive difference for sound and temperature control

#124 Re: General Discussion » Citroen dispatch sill panels » 2024-04-21 23:00:10

Bit of a predicament then, even if someone would be going to Holland, it's not a an hours job to template it.
