Cheers for the help much appreciated ,normally i would under the van and would have all been done and dusted but it looks like i might have all the parts
If it as a VW T3 i would know without looking i have just about replaced everything on my old one , now rusting in peace, Thats why i have one of these no body rot !
with swivel seats it has almost the same amount of space as the back of the t3
Ahh so its a plastic plug ,thanks for that will look into it The manuals ive uloaded dont show rear springs for some reason,,, later models are totally different
Thanks for the pics Casper, it looks like the spring sits on a plug at the top , i reckon that wont be there on mine due to the air conversion ,might have to stick with air and try and find some replacement bags
Hi all i am going change th rear air bags back to spring,, has anyone one got a pic of he top mount or could describe it does it unbolt from the chassis ? , i cant get under van as iam recovering from a x4 bypass
if i dident already have swivels i would have snap theses up
just spotted theses beauties

Decided to put springs back on Managed to get a pair on ebay and he said he will throw in the mounts ,cups n rubbers
I will keep the compressor n use it to inflate stuff like tyres and my two inflatable canoes!
they where a conversion and they dont look that good had a advisery on last mot was going to sort it out this month but heart attack and bypass put pay to that idea , they take a good 8.10 hours to fully drop ran it for two years like that, its not a high end conversion its just figuring out what bags to get and type of fitting on pipes
bmw units look like them but dont want to fork out and be wrong when on the sick for months
bit of a headache
Hi all ,has anyone on here replaced the air suspension bags on their WAV or swapped back to standard steel
my front platforms hang by cords when pulled out they only slide out for sleeping though
I would go for campinggaz 907 or 904 while in Europe for a long while my mate has used it for years in his van (get it most places)
Thought i would put my two pennys worth in
I have had a few vans , if just using in summer butane is good as it has a higher calorific output than propane, not that you would notice in a van, I go with propane as the bottles are shorter and can use all year round, at currant refill prices i cant see a great deal of benefit of filling up at the pump after you have forked out on adapters, bottles that have been refilled have had the seals/valve checked
Driven through france spain and back and still had plenty of gas in the bottle(two of us)
just a thought , filling a low pressure bottle with a high pressure pump that is designed to fill high pressure vehicle tanks!!
they say you can drive after 4 weeks , its the sternum and chest flesh is the limitation
after your bypass(which heals quickly) its just the bones knitting back together that takes time, i am more awake and alert ive been in years, my ticker must have been in a bad shape just proves a point that no matter how fit /active you are!
ps if you are a bus/psv/train driver you nead checkups & maby Zeppelin pilots
well im 6.2 and use the 806 spacers as they are half the size so the difference wont be all that different if i took them out anyways , but if your using the van ones witch are larger you will notice the difference if you removed them , my seats are on the lowest setting but it would be the same as a 806 as im using the small 806spacers,
i reckon they are just to cut down on vibration anyways
hope that makes sense
first time back driving today after over 6 weeks ,the van started first turn of the key
sounded like an old taxi untill warmed up though
So - found a guy near Barnsley with a wreck of an 806 who agreed to let me have the seats for £100 before he scrapped it (as long as I gave him my drivers side one to get it there!)- maybe I went in too high but as it turned out he more than earned it...
so not really knowing what I was doing, I tried to get my drivers side seat out and failed bleeding and cold! The seat came off the base fine but those bolts on the base where impossible (maybe my lack of experience is showing here?)
So having read on here how easy it should be (not yet actually re-reading Monkeynuts post!) I guessed that the bases were probably the same and the seats would bolt onto the slidey track things and anyway I wanted a pint.
Called the guy on the way over on Saturday just to let him know I had only the seat bit - turned out he hadn't been able to remove the bases either! fantastic, must be fine!
Anyway, as I'm sure is perfectly obvious to everyone else we checked the seat holes against each other and theyre out by around 10mm.
4 hours later having used a crowbar, chisel, big hammer and an angle grinder we finally got the bases out of his (relatively) unharmed, it was very good of him to put in all this effort with no complaints at all.
So now the important part: I have to repeat this with mine without damaging anything. I have a plan to wd40 the underneath of all the bolts even if it means removing the exhaust and going at them with a wire brush? Having already rounded some of the torqs off I'm seriously dreading it
Any tips from people who have done this?!
i had a striped torx as well but sorted that out with some very good vice type grips with flat jaws(dident spray the bolts first silly me) due to lack of room on a couple of bolts i used the smallest ratchet i had to get a perfect uprite fit, dont forget the two large torxs bolts as they are for the seat belts, might be worth making smaller plastic spacers(or removing them to lower the seat base some)
Good idea will post my picks soon. ,, as I haven't seen my van for all most a month. I suffered a massive heart attack while running on the fells and been in withinshaw hospitle ever since. Quadruple bypass ,out now
I still will go with 806/synergies seats they are designed to fit and are very solid there swivel base conscution , stay away from galaxy seats they have to be modded to swivel 180 by sawing of a safety pin that takes the seat belt force,,
I have done alot of research into swivel seats for mine,, be patient look for someone breaking a 806/synergie/ulysees they bolt strait in took me about a hour
its worth the wait
also i beleive the 807 seats fit too
ps there is no farting about with the hand brake lever either as it is mounted to the seat base in the same way
Mine is a WAV and i like it low mileage and you can get the cheaper than vans!, Also all carpeted lined and head lined plus you have allready got widows allround and extra storage space and no bulkhead or that silly 5 inch panel!
I will be changing mine back to springs from air sacks this spring
Cracking Engine the DW8
fit swivel seats/806/synergie/ulysees the best thing i have done to mine gives me the same space as the rear of my old T25
They are very flimsy too (had one snap on me) give the catch and cable a bit of oil while you have the bonnet up
Hi Vaz If you look at the top picture you will see a little green loop hanging from the sliding door rail, the board hangs from that,
the best thing i did was put the 806 seats in it as it frees up alot of room,
i had the cooker in the same place in my old Rascal i was thinking of doing a full conversion with cupboards but desided to go the same route as with my old bedford rascal keep it simple and most of all lite in weight as it is only a 1.9 d
there is lots of storage space under the bed
I have got a source on some good quality ply so will be redoing all again soon in stained beech ply(stronger) with better access to the storage
