Roof rack/bars

I'm contemplating building a roof rack or roof bars. I've got a two piece bed frame that would make a good roof rack, I've also got some sections of table leg, box section. Not sure which to build yet.
Can anyone post a photo of the bracket to roof assembly so I could have a look?
Cheers

Probably not what your looking for .............
The channels that run length of Van is for Fiamma motorhome roof box mounting ..............
And were already on roof of van when it arrived..........

I also got a set of Rhino bars with van but sat to high off roof for me and were noisey over 50 ( Right at crusing speed)

I found an old pair of Aero bars (ready for the bin) Modified them to fit (Put a slight curve in them to help miss roof and drilled a hole to bolt down ETC)

I did think breifly on using unistrut but this was stuff was already on hand/lying about (Saved for just a project)

With Rhino bars :~

Re: Roof rack/bars

Its interesting what you said about noise. I think I'll try and make them as low profile as I can.

Re: Roof rack/bars

Mine are just this shape

Dont know what steel is used as its not stainless but dont rust. Lower hole obviously bolts it down to roof and upper goes through the bar. Mine are a good 2-3" from the roof and cant say i notice any more noise. However if making the brackets yourself you could just make them lower. The steel used it at least 3mm thick

Made out of old table legs and a pieces of road sign frame!
I'll paint them black and get some plastic bungs for the ends.
