I changed a full set of glow plugs last year I think it was but was never really very happy with their operation (cheapo's) and as I've had van up on Ramps this last Month at least now with gear change cable replacement, some extra reverse lights (Every little bit helps) ETC..........
It was not bursting into life like normal, So had another watch at this https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=m_G9028N1Gg ............
As I don't have a meter with an Amp meter on it and a set of Glow Plugs last year (Doesn't mean their not Duffers)
I checked with my (Analogue not Digital...... Using a crocodile clip to hold contact on terminal) Meter to check 12V other than test light to make sure 12v was flowing..........
Removed relay from mount(10mm nut)

And then the feeds.........10mm for the big post and 8mm for smaller.... Pushing the wire in to release multi-plug
(Ive sprayed every where under here with anti-corrosion waxy stuff and Detritus I'll call it sticks to it)
I did it again..... Got carried away in my little world and took no more pics..........
Took the 4 screws in the bottom out with a fairly small head Philips........
As you can see theirs always one but none really were that tight to put up a big fight.........
Rather than just drown everything inside in contact cleaner ........
I got a sheet of paper out printer and cut An inch strip off it and folded it in half ........
And soaked at least half of it in Contact cleaner..............
Then Used it to drag through the coil points of the relay.........
I had to apply some pressure/resistance to coil points for a good scrub........... There was a fair amount of Sh** ... Detritus came off onto paper.........
So far so good as they say and re-assembly is reversal of strip down ..........
The proof will be in the pudding at next real Cold start in Morning..........
I did have it running for a couple mins and left it for at least an hour before trying again.....It was much better but we'll see

I'm going to call that a Fail ............
We were out last night for dinner (with my parents ........ Both in their 90's) ...........
Which meant after return and in turn after watching telly I'd left van alone until after 22.00 hrs last night {about 10hrs} and it burst into life reasonably well.........
But after another 12 or 14 hrs left through night and some morning which got possibly closer to 0 temp wise although better was still slugish to go .....{unlike the 306 which had been dormant for 3 days}.......
This itself is not a great problem if snowing, But I think it's for getting much colder/icier to come .......
I did think of using a bit of emery paper, but had none to hand ...............
So back to drawing board and a bit more thought...........
