Evening all, So since ive owned my2002 Expert 1.9D its always had mysterious wet footwells, I understand that the drainage system below the windscreen sometimes get blocked up and this is normally the cause, Ive checked this and they are clear of debris. The windscreen seems to be free of leaks as well. so can someone please help me out?? is there any other gulley, channel, bung, anything where it could be coming from thanks people.

When you say the windscreen channel is clear, have you also checked the rubber drain pipes at each end of the channel?

Unless there is any structural problem like leaking windscreen or holes in the floor of firewall, I can't think of anywhere else for it to get in. We struggle to get even a single cable out into the engine bay.

I have it also and forgot about them rubber drains. I was blaming the gap at the top middle in the screen rubber. Keep meaning to stick some Sikaflex in it. Bloody scrapping ice of the inside as well as out.

see if theres water inside the cabin air intake. this should remain clear however i have seen it where water gets in to the footwells past the gasket the blower motor unit sits on as it comes through the firewall, if water is getting in pastn the scuttle plastics (plastic the windscreen wipers go through)

On mine the drain tubes from the scuttle were blocked with mud below the wheelarch and water came in through the heater. I ended up removing both seats (battling with corroded bolts!) and the floor covering to dry everything out.

Ruston, i will double check them below the wheelarch tomorrow. yeah ive just had the seats out and ive thrown away the rubber flooring. the firewall is soaked in the passengers footwell over the wheel arch so maybe find the problem there fingers crossed.

I had this on mine.

Down by the wheel arches where those scuttle drains under the windscreen end up, I stuck a wet and dry vacuum.
You might need to open the pipes up a little as mine were sortof folded over and collapsed a little on themselves.

Let that suck for a while - you will hear it sucking at the scuttle. Do the same on the other side.
I got a load of mud and gunk out of my ones.

I had water coming out into the footwells - but once I did that, nothing.

** Edit - Looks like Pete and I have had the exact same experience and solution.

the blower motor behind the dash right in the top corner behind the glovebox. this wont be the fault however, it will be the drains in the scuttle panel.. it sould be a quick easy fix wink
