Rescuemycar.com

Anyone use them?

https://www.rescuemycar.com/

Anyone use them. I want euro cover for my van. Got a quote from them at £118 for the year and with UK cover. AA wanted £127 for the trip only. Seems to good to be true as the van is 16 years old.

Re: Rescuemycar.com

I did have the 306 insured with RAC as the broker up until last year and they gave us Euro breakdown cover Pro-rata.......£36 from Sept-Dec14 and then £78 May-Dec 15

Thankfully we've never needed it in the last 4....5 years of using the Pug .......(It was the Diesel of the 2 cars we had at the time)

As  this year the van's on duty for taking us to Spain.......I've been Googling "Compare European Breakdown Cover" for quotes

http://www.moneysupermarket.com/c/break … /european/

http://www.driverguardian.co.uk/breakdo … oCTnDw_wcB
(vehicles up to 16 yrs..... special offer £79 on this one for UK & Euro cover)

http://www.breakdowncovercomparison.co.uk/european

As a couple too be going on with...... and link a for reviews for Rescue my car .................if it's of any use for you

Re: Rescuemycar.com

Cheers vaz ill look into them later (Beer Goggles just now  big_smile ) Rescuemycar is getting the boot. The reviews i am reading dont say if they have had to use them. Customer service can give be Swedish 18 year old virgins if they want but will they bring my van back? Guy on a bike forum knows someone who is taking out a lawsuit as they wont bring his bike back due to the repatriation cost being higher than the bike. Ill pay 200 for the AA/RAC if i can get full UK and Europe cover for the wife and myself as she is out and about more with the car now. Normally (Past four years) i took the gamble as never far (100 miles) from my mates gaff in Holland and he has access to a tow van but going down to the Swiss/French border this year.

No as something came up and had to use the money. Ill get it next month and it will be the RAC. The give cover on person or motor and i was getting UK + Europe cover for a tad over £200 and this was with the wife on the UK cover. Now that may have been an introductory offer and ive lost out but the rest i looked at wanted silly money for a motor over 16 years old.

Got the van MOT'd and full service.(I normally get car serviced a couple weeks/month before travel so disturbed things can settle (sump plug, oil filter leaks etc)).. only thing, A sticky caliper, turned out slider was sticky on bolt in carrier, A clean up and (copper slip type) silvery anti size grease's done the job, renewed insurance, replaced windscreen, years road tax,..... Although planned and I've still couple more bits N bobs before the off, fairly eats into budget at this stage

I'd got RAC breakdown cover thrown in on 306 insurance previous as they were broker and upgraded to euro cover when needed don't know what level of euro cover we had, thank fully never needed to find out..............

So was curious on what you'd found.

Re: Rescuemycar.com

OK just bought this. If i got full UK cover it would be £119.99 and then buy Euro for 11 days £129.68  << That is Comprehensive price. You have another two lower levels.

However

Buy UK then add Euro you get the Euro as Comprehensive  and for 365 days a year but each jolly must be no more than 90 days.

So i got personal cover so any car i am in and dont have to be a driver. Added the wife for same level of cover and added the years Euro cover and it came in at £231.98.

lol
