What is the location of the starter on the dispatch, and is it easily removed.

Cant say 100% but i am sure dow the back of the enging where the engine meets the gearbox. Normally you disconect the live from battery then disconnect all wires from starter (some have one some have two) Take out the mounting bolts (Three on last car i did) and pull out. Fit new one in reverse. Half hour job if you can lift the van.

You can get at it  from above ,  Two bolts if memory serves

Starter is on the front just to the right of the diesel pump, fastened on with 3 bolts/ allen screws. Have a jack ready, it's impossible to remove the top  covers until the engine mount is removed
