1997 Dispatch keypad immobiliser wires damaged

Hi folks, I’m reaching out and I’ll happily send someone a coffee if they have this info.
My dads pride and joy 1997 Dispatch (from new) has stopped turning over. Ive inspected behind the keypad immobiliser and 3 of the cables have snapped. With 3 cables loose and 8 free terminals I can not fathom the right combination. I’m an ok mechanic but not too good on electrics. 
If anyone can tell or show me the wire order on the block connector going into the keypad to the right of the steering column I will be so so grateful!!

That would be amazing if you could. I’ve searched high and low for one for sale or someone breaking one and no look. I’ve spent a fair few hours guessing the order and going in circles.

I saw OAT was disabling his last year and really hoping theirs was still running. All I can do is hope and cross all my fingers and toes! Thanks

Yes mine is unfortunately still if use.  I fear it failing one day though.

It's getting dark and I didn't notice the fluff.  I will dust it off and get a clearer one tomorrow if you can't get the colours of that.

NB... looks like I rotated it 180deg to take that.

The "dust" turns out to be the sticky residue from the loom wrapping.

I hope by a process of elimination that you will be able get the colors from this.

Absolutely incredible you’ve still got this in full working order, bravo!!

I can take no credit for this.

Built 98, first reg 99.  I have had it and virtually lived in it for over six years and 60,000 miles with not a single breakdown.  Usually needs a bit of money spending each MOT but apart from expected wear and tear items nothing regards engine apart from belts, glow plugs, oil and filters.

Without doubt the best vehicle for economy and reliability, and the most suited to my needs I have owned in over 50 years of driving.

I have sleepless nights on the approach of every MOT but I can't find anything to match it in modern vehicles and anything from the days when everything wasn't crap, is way over my price range.

Your story sounds so familiar to my dads here. He’s owned this van for 26 years and it’s never let him down. When this non starting just came about the garage have changed the ignition barrel and the intermittent starting continued. After we noticed these cables frayed and damaged we couldn’t let it go to the graveyard as a non starter for something so manageable yet unattainable!

I’ve just rewired the three loose cables, and refitted three more securely that I could see had become frayed/damaged. The van now lets me put the code in with the green light coming on, then just ticks like the battery has gone flat. It’s been stuck for 2 weeks with constant immobiliser attempts so I really hope it comes to life tomorrow after a charge.

Brilliant! I reckon green light means you've sussed it. I'm glad too that you didn't take it to the scrapper for that, we need to keep these old ones going

Must be a 1.9TD at that age? Or possibly the non-turbo XUD9

I wish it had a turbo, it’s just the 1.9. it’s got the acceleration of an old boat.

I have picked up a battery charger and the van has fired up. I’ve disconnected the immobiliser plug and the van starts freely now!
Very frustrated the garage changed the ignition barrel a few weeks ago taking a guess but lessons learnt.
My mother is fuming they’re keeping the van but my dad is absolutely made up this morning. We’re definitely keeping this one on the road now! Thank you everyone for the the contributions!

My apologies to your mam but happy for your dad. 

You may already know this but just in case not... unplugging only works until the battery is disconnected or goes flat.
