So have bought a DC-DC charger, and a leisure battery etc.
Install going swimmingly until now.....
So 2016 mk3 Dispatch.
Battery in behind/under th front seats along with the charger (will post up info when it's all done.
But where oh where do I get the enable feed for the charger from?
It states that I should:
connect the charger to alternator output - I was going to connect direct to battery, as alternator is not in a terribly accessible position- can't even tell which would be the correct terminal peering done the front of the engine bay...
However the charger also has an enable connection (12V) which switches on the charging function.
So my van has start stop and clearly I need to switch off the charging when the van "stops" so I can't just link over from the battery supply.
If I connected to the alternator, then I could just use this same connection linked over to the enable, engine not running = alternator not spinning = no output, so all would be good.
So anyone know which connection on the alternator I need to use?
Or
anyone know where I can get a feed that is only live when the engine is running?
There are 2 fuse boxes, and one in in the dash and seems pretty inaccessible, and the second is in the engine bay and either everything is live permanently, or comes live with ignition on. PLus the manual that came with the van doesn't really seem to align with what fuses are in what places....very strange.

Spent a bit of time trying to find a motor running feed and gave up in the end. Instead I tapped into the ign feed at the radio, and fed that into a timer circuit (AT41 on eBay), and then a switch. I set the timer to about 30s, so that I would have enough time to start the engine, however I usually operate it via the switch anyway, since the solar panels usually suffice.
The fusebox at the dash does not seem to be designed for humans, and the manual does not help much. I located the correct details for my 2015 DW10CD model, which may be of use.

My split charge relay is triggered by the blower motor
Not sure about the Mk2 but on mine the blower motor fuse is only energised after the engine starts (I gather it's based on output from the alternator)

Yeah, that's what I used in my MK1, but on the MK2 unfortunately, from what I can see, everything is buried in the EC2 :-(
