Anyone know more about battery's? Car was not used for two weeks and yesterday i went to fire it up and nothing but a few clicks. Charged it up for a six hours or more and left if sitting turned off overnight. Its reading 12.3 this morning from 13+ before i went to bed. I was expecting it to drop but hoping for 12.5v. No idea how old this is but is 12.3 an indication of it dying?

I would say it's a good chance of it being on its way out... Getting used everyday you probably wouldn't notice but sitting for 2 weeks has highlighted likely what you were going to find out anyway when winter's arrived.......You could try and prolong its life with Epson salts or whatever it is those Vids on you tube ETC claim.....

Aye, just back from a wee run. Its charging fine but i need to go out later. Ill let it settle and take readings late tonight and first thing tomorrow. Any drop ill just replace it since winter is coming. Ill also look into how high i can go with ah's as this is only a wee 45ah one. Bless

Sounds like it's on it's last legs mate, you can buy reviv-a-batt from halfrauds but to be honest you're probably only looking at an extra month at best, a new battery is probably in order.
On the plus side, my mondeo caught fire today but the battery is fine and only a month old if you need one

I had an Escort van that caught fire. Turned out to be a known fault and mine missed the recall. Lucky i got out switching the ignition off in time and throw water on the smoking area. Turned out the factory ran part of the wire loom under the vin plate what had sharp edges inder rubbing away and shorting the wires. Guy i bought it from (2nd hand trade) managed to get it fixed free from Ford. At the time it was only a £900 van so that must have been a hard one to swallow for them.

It was the catalytic converter on mine, developed a hole and on a regeneration cycle heated so much that it melted the exhaust rubbers, set fire to them a scorched everything underneath, managed to put it out before it caused too much damage. Getting a decat pipe and remapped now, hopefully it's only about £500 worth of damage!

Haha I know, I regretted it the moment I drove off the forecourt! I've had some form of 4x4 for the last 10 years, an estate car just feels wrong!
