Bench seat conversion

Hi. I'm new to this and I have a question regarding the front bench seat. I have a friend who has made their bench seat (Toyota - Hiace) able to face front or backwards. I was wondering if anyone here has had a go at altering the seat to achieve the same result. They have put brackets on either side of the seat and removing a screw allows the back part to flip.
