Wiper arm removal

Hi, I feel silly asking this one.
Removed the nut, gave the arm a tap, didn't come off
Is there a knack?
Just wanted to give them a blast with some black spray I'd found

Re: Wiper arm removal

Haven't looked that close at mine but unless you can see a little spring retainer at 180 deg from the arm, they should just pull of the splines.

If they are stuck, a spray of whatever penetrating fluid and a bit of persuasion from a carefully placed large flat screwdriver might help.  If they are really stuck you might need to lever both sides at the same time.  If really solid, a puller might shift them.

You have inspired me though and as mine look scabby, I will give them a spray too.

Pull blade from glass first as if you were changing it

Doh, of course! I folded them out, one came off easily, the other with a tap.
Both sprayed black now!
Essential maintenance!!

Re: Wiper arm removal

I had to buy a little mini-puller to get mine off. The long one was impressively stuck.
