Hi everyone ive just found this site and it looks great. Im gonna be looking at getting a Scudo, Expert or Dispatch some time in the future but cant afford too much, probly around the £1500-£1800 mark. Mainly gonna be for autojumbles and bootsales but needs to be my daily driver to work aswell.
In the past ive owned a Fiat Ulysses for about 7 years and was fantastic but needed a bit more headroom in the back, then a Peugeot 807 which was just too small, nice for people but not for jumble and motorcycles.
The obvious question we all ask.... what shall i look out for ? any advice would be greatly appreiciated and has anyone got one for sale near to me..poole in Dorset.
Thanks Martin.

The most obvious question is which engine you'd like
There's two variants on the 1.9D - the 1905cc XUD9 and 1868cc DW8. The performance of these is... manageable. There's nothing it can't do, but don't expect to be burning anyone off and be prepared for being stuck at 55mph up hills. MPG is low-30s to mid-40s. XUD9 ran up to 1999, DW8 from 1999 to 2005 I think.
The 1.9TD is a turbo'd 1.9D XUD9, this is probably what you had in your Ulysses. Plenty more grunt than the 1.9D and more pleasurable to drive, but pretty rare these days. MPG mid 30s to mid-to-high 40s. Ran up to 2000.
The 2.0 HDi is a completely new engine with better performance and MPG than the previous two, but with a lot more electronic/computerised gubbins.
There's also a 1.6 HDi, but I don't know much about that one. I assume it filled the space of the DW8 in 2005.
