how long to fit an alternator ?

Ive been quoted £160 + vat  for an alternator for my o3 plate 1,9d expert  and been told 3 hrs labour  hmm  surely not ? 3 hours, is this real or is this taking the piss ?

It's 2 bolts and a couple of wires. Definitely sounds excessive. £160 + VAT sounds a bit much too.

Aye sad it all sounds a bit of a rip off tbh... If I wasnt ill just now I would do it myself but not an option just now unfortunately  neutral

These days with transverse engines I find that it's all about accessibility, on a garage ramp everything seems easier to get at from underneath.
