Re: Insurance

Damn you, I thought I'd hit the jackpot at £500 for 3000 mile limit. But then I'm 29 with 2 years' NCB.

Nowt wrong with that. TBH i dont need 12k a year. Probably get away with 6k but its best to have just in case. Im expecting it all to go up next time as wife had a dunt in the car what has added 250 onto that policy what is in my name.

I'm quite happy with the £170 It was the 90 days per Euro trip I was wondering about as it took a bit to make sure I could go more than once or twice a yr if able and still had fully comp the whole/every time I was away not that I think I'll manage 90 days yet in one hit.............

It also brought home that it's up for renewal mid Sept ............. So the big hunt will start in about 6 or 8 weeks

Ive whittled the insured and taxed vehicles (fleet) down a few ............  A wee Corsa (Although I really bought Corsa for my Daughter and I used it a bit....TBH I  didn't pay for all with the Corsa myself, The Ex Mrs (now shares it with Daughter) took it on in the end as her car expired) , Diesel Golf after rebuilding pump on it has decided to spring a oil leak to rival the Exon Valdez and is awaiting surgery (Could be a while) and only insured the one bike as partner is not really able to use hers much (That was a big reason we bought van few yrs back)
Might not sound much but £20 a week saving is not long in mounting up

Re: Insurance

20 quid a week saving is a bloody good euro jolly mate. If you save it that is.

Not van related but due to my wifes little dunt the renewal for the car came in. 179 up to 576. That is a loss of 6 years NCB not two as they said. Sod that so i phoned the AIB Insurance who i have the van with. Got the car with the same limits for £293 with UK breakdown. Home start and relay what i am chuffed with. I also asked about the van for breakdown. When my £230 a year RAC runs out they will cover the van for all year UK and 90 days euro for £70. big_smile 90 days works well for us just now and they have no height or weight limit and dont care as its an older van for repatriation.

BTW. Something i found out. If you carry over 9 years NCB to a new company your new company may not recognise that and you may only have 6 or less even though they have 9 written down on your policy and if you are insured through the Halifax you listen to just over 2 minutes of shite before you get to talk to a human. That is 2 minutes of charged shite the conning gits. AIB when i call its picked up almost straight away and always a pleasant voice at the other end what is quite refreshing.  Just hope they dont shaft me next year  big_smile
