Odd Clutch Creaking noise

The van got little use and sat about a lot over the last year since it's last M.O.T. .............

On semi resurrecting the van one or two minor issues were attended too............. And noticed that as you depressed the clutch pedal just before starting engine there was an Odd creaking sound only audible with engine OFF.............

Other than that there were no other symptoms to go along with this

The van was serviced and pre M.O.T.ed sent for it's test which It passed

About a week later I had A Myocardial perfusion Scan to get over Two days at the Glasgow Royal infirmary

I took the van (Stayed in the area) and driving in for the second days test

There started a God Awful Shuddering every time I  set off or changed gear especially changing down.............

I also noticed shortly afterwards that when stopped and engaging gear on occasions that there was a very pronounced pulsing coming through clutch pedal..........

A ( LUK ) 3 piece Clutch kit and a couple of captive nuts needing rewelded back on......

All is well again .............

The Clutch mechanism was it seems Collapsing  and had I continued to use van .......
There's a good chance it would have damaged the Flywheel

Re: Odd Clutch Creaking noise

DONT Talk to me about the bloody clutch.

It went on the LDV. Bugger as i changed all my cash into Euros. Not needing the van i waited a week and ordered up a new Luk 3 part kit. Few days later it arrives and away we went with the spanners. Took an age as we have never did a clutch before. New one on easily enough and all back together. Still no bloody clutch. Duel mass is shot and LDV want £400+ for a new one. Sod that i can get a conversion kit for £140 bit that means my new clutch is now useless. Conversion kit ordered and flywheel swapped over and sure enough on inspection the duel mass is very rattly and loose. New clutch and pressure plate on as well as arm and bearing. Could we get the box back on. Could we hell. The new pressure plate is larger making it just fit in the box and you need to be almost 100% lined up with engine and box before they will mate. 4 bloody hours later i get my clutch in. Anyone want a new LDV 2.4 three part clutch big_smile
