Electric Conversion

Hi there,
Has anyone on this site tried, thought or heard about converting one these vehicles to run with an electric motor
I know that VW type 2's have been electrified as well as a Nissan van that has and been turned into a camper.
So if there are people with any information or links to websites I would be very grateful.

Never considered it myself.

I notice though that a factory electric version is coming out in 2020.

Yeah I've seen that but was hoping to get away with paying a little bit (a lot) less than what they will probably be asking for it.

It will certainly be well out of my range and not at all suitable as a camper.  Although for anyone going site to site with hook up,  it would be ok. 

My first thought about an electric conversion was that it could cost even more than buying a factory one.  But I suppose that apart from the cost of components, it would be reletively simple?
