Hi All,
I am going to have a go at replacing my power steering pump on my 2005 Dispatch 1.9d, does anyone know if there is a guide/instructions available or any tips from anyone who has done this?
Bit broke so trying to avoid a garage if possible.
Thanks

Don't know of one specific to dispatch, but if you search youtube for "power steering pump replacement" + other models with same or similar engine, you might be lucky and find something quite close.

When I did mine it was pretty straightforward. It was a while ago so I'm scraping my memory a bit.
- Take the fan belt off by loosening the tensioner.
- A few bolts hold the pump to the engine, taken them out
- Take the two hoses off the pump
- Replace pump, reinstate hoses
- Reinstate fan belt
Then flush the air out. Lift the two front wheels off the ground.
- Top up the fluid
- Full lock left and right
- Repeat until the level stops going down
That should be it I think.

Pretty much what kenbw2 said ................
Our 306 with a DW8 I'm sure had a power steering pump from a similar spec engine wise Berlingo fitted to the 306 before We got it..........
I know the previous owner [an ex policeman... Black sheep of family apparently] Actually although now 21 years old I know every family member somewhat that had car from new [was passed around same family for 8 or 9 years till the policeman [now ex] came along] and I'm sure my mechanic friend said he put a Berlingo pump on it for him as that's all that was avaiable at time..............
I've just looked at reg dockie I've had car 11 years already.....................
[It is on retirement duties now]........
Engine wants to be running when purging air out.........
[Just at tick over will do]
