I'd start with looking at fuses (and then maybe relay) - they should be in your glovebox at the back. You might need to remove the whole drawer to make access easier. That's if the fuses are still in the same location as the older van (I have a 2005 model). If not, a quick google search will yield you results - and whilst you're at it, those google images should also give you an indication of which fuse(s) and relay(s) control the wipers.
Might be a silly question, but did you make sure the ignition was in position 1, or better yet that you started the engine? If the key's where in the off position then the wipers will come on only whilst there is a little residual charge left after your turn off the van, so they will come on initially and stop usually just before they get back to their home position

Oh, and welcome to our friendly home! The people here are great and very knowledgeable. You'll always get a good answer even if it's not always immediate (not everyone checks here every day - too busy tinkering with their vans when they aren't busy working to pay for said vans).

Hi,
Fuses are located in two main areas, firstly in the engine bay on the drivers side just behind the headlight. Secondly, internally on the drivers side remove the trim piece just below the pull out cup holder.
