Brake wear indicator

So the pads I got came with a wear indicator wire - I found the plug that this wire fits into behind the calliper - but I can't find anyhere that the other end is supposed to plug into on the supplied pads!? The instructions that came with the bx of 4 pads and the two wires say I plug it into the pad if the vehicle has the sensor capability - but I cannot find a plug slot on the pad?

Any ideas?

Okay I've checked the usual car parts websites and the ones that list the Drivetec Premium brake pads all say there should be an integrated wear indicator - which does make sense given that a set of two wires are included in the box. Two of the pads should have a plug for the indicator to go into, but they don't... The four pads where together, bound with a shrink-wrap plastic, so I guess this is a mistake at the factory? I bought these parts today instead of waiting until monday morning when Euro Car Parts would be open, specifically so I could go and finish a job that I had to leave unfinished on Friday (because the van was off the road I couldn't bring my shredder, so I was unable to take away the rubbish) and now I needn't have bothered and could have saved the money by picking them up from Euro anyway mad

Mine had wear indicators on the pads and the van side. In my case the pads had loads of meat left on 'em when it lit up, and they were being a pain in the ass when I had the steering at a certain point so I stopped bothering with them

I can understand given your other thread though you'd rather know there's too much left than not enough sad

When you get too much pedal travel there's not enough left on the front lol, I think I've done 15K since I done the front disks pads on mines, still look new (It was drivetec stuff), although for the wear sensor I cut the plug off the end and joined the wires, it's fairly east to tell when they need changed as they have much more travel in the pedal.

I gave up in the end - I called up the Auto Parts store first thing this morning to ask why they supplied a product that wasn't as described (I know it wasn't their fault, as it was a box that came sealed from the manufacturer) - the shop didn't have another box of these pads in stock but they suggested I contact the manufacturer to ask and complain.

Since I had already fitted two of the four pads onto the van, and the other side looks as though it was done fairly recently, I kept the other two pads to one side. If the manufacturer gets back to me and accepts they fecked up, and swaps them for the ones with the wear indicator plug, then I can put them on at that point.
