Hi all.
ive recently had a fault come up on my 2006 citroen dispatch 2.0 hdi van. When plugged in it reads p903 clutch actuator voltage high. Its a manual box and as far as im aware there's no electrics to it. What could be causing this fault? Can anyone help me please? Thanks paul

What are some of the common causes of the code? Causes for this P0903 code may include: Defective clutch actuator Defective sensor or solenoid Faulty or damaged wiring Loose or defective control module ground strap Corroded, damaged or loose connector Defective fuse or fuse-able link (If applicable) Clutch master cylinder malfunction Defective ECM, PCM or TCM

That does appear to relate to an auto.
Are you sure you have the correct software?

It was just a cheap obd reader i used, do you think ill get a better reading if i take it to a garage?

Seaching around would suggest that the code is nonsense. People had a faulty MAF sensor or coolant sensor or brake switch.

Probably/hopefully.
I have never owned an OBD vehicle myself, but if I had to pay a garage for a high tech diagnosis, I would expect it to be accurate.

Is there actualy any tangible benefit to having OBD equipped vehicles? The supposed instant fault finding should save considerably on labour charges. Old fashioned, hands on fault finding could often take longer than the repair.
The feedback I hear from others about OBD is most often about being charged extortionately to have a mysterious LED turned off.

I think (maybe?) the issue is that the standard codes only cover a subset of the actual codes they use, so the problem is obfuscated behind nonstandard manufacturer-specific codes you can't just look up in the standard
Probably like electric cars. They should actually be much easier to maintain and work on, but you can bet your ass they'll use computers to stop you doing that by coding parts to the ECU for safety/calibration/other such bull

Thanks guys. Ive Ordered a switch which fits under the clutch pedal, its same as the brake switch. Failing that ill try getting it plugged in with a decent code reader and see what that comes back with. Ill keep you posted

I'm inclined to agree with you ..............
This here is with others a prognosis sounding very much like the wiring ageing and giving WTF odd issues
I have come across in my Amature keep it going time some Rather IMHO stupid ideas like wiring exposed within diesel in a pump and thought ...........
Who actually came up with this and thought "thats a good idea"..............
Bean couters every thing is down to bottom line ...........
How is someone meant to earn a crust when their commercial vehicle [which were actually at one time regarded as being built stronger including car derived vans to cope with the extras and daily stress] and is not earning but costing them more in repairs than it can earn even if it was doing it's job properly ......
And then comes the public ...
No quality control and we all want it cheaper than ever before but miss the good old days when quality build was in the every day item but nobody is prepared to put that into any thing now unless it's a premium brand name and can charge you the earth.............
Even premium brands in the automotive sector are guilty of the bottom line for profit and leave the consumer with astronomical bills to repair poor quality issues that recur over and over leaving owners high and dry and the manufacturers trading on their past...........
And people taking it all in and believing their product is as durable as before ....................
Sorry ranting again ..........
If its a Mechanical issue an obd won't tell you what's going wrong..............
I bought a Spares Vectra years ago with a con rod through block ........
Even though there was a hole in side of engine we managed to start it on 3 to get it off trailer and into storage .............
And not one single warning light came on dash when running and for fun connected an obd code reader to it......
You guessed it not one single DTC recorded ... past or present ....
You maybe had to be there but it created a good bit of mirth...............

Thanks everyone who responded, sorry its took so long to reply. ive sorted the problem it turned out to be mass airflow sensor so nothing to do with the clutch actuator ?
